Moving to San Diego Area
« on: April 03, 2021, 08:48:37 AM »
As the title implies I got a job that is in Carlsbad and am moving to the general SD area in the Fall. Carlsbad is clearly expensive, but I wanted to get a lead on areas to check out that wouldn't be a super far commute and would make it easy to get out of the metro area as my other hobby is rock climbing.

I live a little north of there, but my company has employees that work in Carlsbad and mostly live in Vista. Seems to be fairly more affordable and still close enough.

If you move to Fallbrook maybe Tony Hawk will let you skate his ramp.

Also check out Encinitas. Tony Cox used to live there I recall from his 411 wheels of fortune and if it’s good enough for Tony Cox it should be good enough for you.

I grew up in Encinitas. You can check it out though it has become objectively more expensive than Carlsbad. I suppose you can always find a hidden gem anywhere...but most of my friends who don't come from wealth have had to move out to Vista, Esco and Fallbrook.
