Best Part in Toy Machine’s Good & Evil
« on: April 06, 2021, 07:55:31 PM »
The music, filming and editing are all time (Kevin Barnett)...

Fast and Hard hitting. Euro Angles.

Tempster’s opening part might take it for me.

Thoughts?

Ed Templeton
Josh Harmony
Austin Stephens
Matt Bennett
Johnny Layton
Billy Marks
Diego

The whole thing is a masterpiece. Marks comes close but jlay without a doubt. That part is legendary.

Kevin Barnett is the sickest. I wish he was still making videos.
I'd probably go with Johnny Layton's part

And JLay, really enjoyed watching his career progress from AM to pro in the magazines and video.

I used to like Austin stephens part. Now I think good lord those puffy shoes looked bad with some of those outfits.

i was just thinking about how much i loved this video, i was a toy machine fanatic as a kid. such a great soundtrack/edit, i used to get lost in the bonus features all day. dick selfie definitely has my vote favorite part, that was my intro to patti smith too. billy had my favorite part as a kid. growing up skating in corona he would always be around, matt b too. buying my favorite boards for cheap straight from those guys and seeing them learn new tricks at the park that you’d later see done in a video on a street spot as an ‘nbd’. i wish toy still had that feel to it but none of my older favorite companies really do at this point.

imagine fucking the dog shit outta chris roberts

I remember a few of the old heads on here saying this video didn’t age well. The whole video rules along with all the tour footage in the bonus features.

My favorite is J-Lay followed by Billy Marks. I think objectively Billy takes it just for the sheer amount of gnarly footage but J-Lay has always been my favorite from that era.

Been about ten years since I’ve watched this but Billy Marks part is really gnarly. Doesn’t he do switch biggie heel board slide down a handrail? Mayhem.

Diego's part is on some Rowley shit. In a parallel universe Diego is on Flip and Rowley on Toy Machine.

JLay and Ed for me.  JLay's was def the most enjoyable, but Ed's was great too because of the cold open and it was kind of a surprise ripper part since he was already past his prime (sorry Ed, love you)
