Summer's approaching and I don't wanna be hot pushing around. Had a pair of Adidas soccer shorts forever but they're on their last leg. Looking for leg wear in the Lucas would approve of. I guess nylon/polyester/rayon/something super breathable. Is Puig just rocking swim trunks? Wondering if y'all got recommendations for particular brands/models of short shorts. Thanks to all the fellow thigh-barers.

Going to any nike/adidas/ other sport brand outlet store you should be able to find some running shorts which will fit the bill

I have some quartersnacks swim shorts that are great. I wear them all the time in the summer...

Also own some Polar ones that are great.
The idea is to buy them in the winter when you can find them for cheap and wait for the summer to rock them!

I do this same thing. They last for years. They also come in two lengths so you can show a little knee or a little more.

If you tear them up Patagonia will fix them for $5–repair seams, patch holes, etc.

like VCR, jay, and shredder said - patagonia baggy is where it's at. Price tag is high at first glance but they do last forever and can be worn for almost everything - trunks/every day shorts/hiking/exercise etc.

Recently picked up some Reebok shorts at an outlet for like $18. They’re super solid good fit and the material is not bad.

I buy the Volcom modern shorts since they're always on sale at your local Nordstrom rack and then hem them to above the knee length.

Great to skate in and are dope casual shorts as well.

cheapo option (also encouraging fast fashion) would be going to decathlon or any other cheap sports store
They have every color in the world for 7€ and are OK quality, no fancy logo tho

I know the question was about polyester "athletic" style shorts, but if you want something a little dressier and more formal, J Crew's 9 inch shorts fit the bill. They're not cheap, but you can nearly always find them on sale or with a huge discount code.

Can’t deal with shorts. Look for some nice linen pants and tuck in a hanes wife beater. That’s what I normally do.

Dickies pants and shorts (cutoffs) are pretty restricting, at least for me. I like the loose fit running shorts like mentioned in this thread. Patagonia baggies and Stussy has a water short, too.

baggies are good but do not stretch at all. i leave the liner in and rock em without undies. champion basketball shorts are good & cheap on ebay. my personal favourite are football (‘soccer’) shorts. breathable, flexible and usually cut quite short which im a fan of.

shoe wise anything with a classic silhouette looks best with shorts. nothing bulky or slim. think bruin/blazer/city cup/club c

and no socks. raw dog it, fam

Walmart has like $10 swim trunks that fit the bill. Not the most amazing quality but they work. Cut the liner out

I hate repeat I hate the summer heat and I especially hate shorts however if you want to beat the heat you've got to join the masses. I just buy thrift store basketball shorts or tennis shorts yeah you look goofy but do you want swamp ass?! or worse a cheese grater wedged in between your cheeks? White shirt and black short shorts hell if you wanted to wear long sleeve shirt go ahead but make sure it's white or else.....
