Is bailing cool now?

I've been seeing more and more stuff like this, where they just rocket the board and wait till it stops flipping about to hop back on. I don't get it. I admit, a few have looked pretty cool, but most of the time it looks so corny I wonder how they keep a straight face when doing it. I've even seen one where the guy just pops the board, catches it mid-air, and then cavemans back onto it.

I feel like if you're having fun skating you're doing fine. But I also think dancing like they do on longboards is some kooky shit so what do I know?

its like a new sub-genre of skateboarding that normal skaters haven't fully reckoned with yet
I wouldn't call it new. The first Beez video came out in like 2003 and it was very well received within the skateboarding community. And then came Fancy Lad who were inspired by the Beez trilogy and they are very much in the mainstream of skateboarding imo.

See, it doesn't look half bad if he keeps his feet moving. The faster the pace, the better it looks. But if he stands still, slows down, or hesitates, it looks corny as shit. Whatever the hell that was at 1:22 made me want to gouge my eyes out. I'd rather use a fleshlight lined with grip tape than ever see that again.

Bailing was always cool.  If bailing weren't cool why would people do it literally all the time?  Why would they not simply decide to stop bailing and start making tricks first try to avoid being "uncool"?
