I love Clive Dixon. He got lumped in with the whole birdhouse thing but honestly the guy just seems like a sweet heart skate rat, which is refreshing in an age of "cool art guy who skates but is going to be so much more than just a skateboarder" schtick.

ha.

i dont hate clive. he is gnarly. he seems so insanely odd that i back it. his style is kinda shitty. he skates to the worst music.

clive dixon is the florida of skateboarding.

aggresively distateful but endearing all at once

well he is from cocoa beach. which is the most Florida of Florida. lmao
This has me cracking up, what exactly does Black Flag have to do with measuring your dick starting behind ya nuts?

Skateboarding is nothing but a game to find the right fits to appear like you're a proportional human being instead of a midget or a giant.

Now that's how you start a video part.

I'll always watch what he puts out; his clips never cease to surprise me and he undoubtedly has balls of steel. I could care less about his fashion sense or music choices though, which are definitely dubious.

Viagra Boys - Slow Learner was used in the THPS remake game, so maybe there is some birdhouse connection. I'm glad he didn't skate to an actual John Prine song, wouldn't want one to be wasted on a Clive Dixon part.

it’s just weird to name it after a musician and then skate to a cover of their song instead of the original?

has anyone skated to this

that would be cool

if the answer is no, who would you like to see skate to John Prine's "Angel from Montgomery"?
[close]

I would really like to see someone skate to a real John Prine or Townes Van Zandt song. Don't know who could do it, but I'd love to see it.
would also love to see it. i could see someone like bobby worrest pulling it of pretty convincingly.

i feel like this song would kinda work a little more easily across the board. could see austyn pulling it convincingly.

Perhaps a copyright issue? Viagra Boys is a Swedish band with people from punk bands, I'm sure it's easier and cheaper to get rights. Or maybe they just wanted to get that extra twist to it by using a (good) cover version. I thought the song was sick and Clive Dixon doing his thing is fully backable.

Skating was great. Love Clive.

I've heard his name called out in a few Rapid Fires for 'worst style' and I don't really get it. Do they mean his clothes? Because his tricks look good enough, his front noseblunts are sick
Is it true?  Or did you read it on the slap message board?

Just watched it properly and thought it was pretty good. The flatground kickflip at 2:08 was a highlight. Quite beautiful actually.

I really liked it and have no problem with his kits to be honest, actually I kinda back his kits way more than any loser trying to be cool in dorkish jeans of choice now.

He’s got mad pop and is obviously super gnar,
Why don’t people like him again?

I liked it. I like Clive. He is 08 all the way but as others have said it’s refreshing to see him not be current trendy cool guy. I wish he was not on birdhouse. I think the kookiness of a few birdhouse teammates doesn’t give him a fair shake. Also bleach hair cuffed jeans I was into it. Stay gold, pony boy!

This dude has grown on me over the years and that part just backs it up. Man there was some burly shit in there and I was digging the song. Feel like his style has gotten better and dude has skill while being creative. I always look forward to watching one of his parts.

Why don't people just release parts with no music. Someone needs to make A new listen video.

This part was sick. The music was good. Prob couldnt get the original due to copyrights. The Dude saying its "tasteless" sounds pretentious and corny. Grow up

Fuck it, I liked it. I don't know the original song so it didn't bother me. As someone who I always just associate with being a rail chomper I was pleasantly surprised at how precise his flip tricks are, I probably just never paid enough attention.

Also, that bigspin front lip down the 12 was going to be his original submission for that X-Games trick of the year right and ended up not using it for that giant noseblunt instead, right?

I'm usually one to try and look for positives and not be too harsh, but god damn that cover was a god awful idea for a part.
I feel like maybe it could have worked in something with a silly ironic vibe like a Frog edit, but not in a heavy hammer type part like this.

I don't mind how he dresses at all, and he's obviously a crazy talented skater that steps to things no one else will, but he has a weird style in my opinion.

He does that ass-out gorilla arm squat thing when he bends down before a trick and it just... doesn't look good.

I back it. Part was heavy.

Way worse offenders out there to throw negativity at. Strange song choice? Sure. To me, it worked fine. And funny enough, the string of weird song choices have made the parts more memorable. Maybe that's just his schtick now.

I love John Prine, Viagra boys, and this cover but I don't think it's a good song choice for a video part. Viagra Boys have way better songs for skating. Also what the fuck is up with the neckerchiefs?

yeah i get that i just meant like if you skated to a cover of “it’s all over now baby blue” and called your part ‘dylan’ as an ode it just seems strange. if you’re gonna pay dues then do it fully, don’t skate to a cover of someone’s original work and name it after them? idk maybe i’m overthinking it. guy is gnarly and i like him better than clint walker (that’s not saying a lot)
