has anyone skated to this

that would be cool

if the answer is no, who would you like to see skate to John Prine's "Angel from Montgomery"?
[close]

I would really like to see someone skate to a real John Prine or Townes Van Zandt song. Don't know who could do it, but I'd love to see it.

Slaps own golden boy Andrew Allen skated to the velvet voices by Townes Van Zandt in a part for Hockey a few years ago, it's glorious and I watch it all the time. I would post it here but I am a Luddite and don't know how.

I love John Prine, Viagra boys, and this cover but I don't think it's a good song choice for a video part. Viagra Boys have way better songs for skating. Also what the fuck is up with the neckerchiefs?

Ive only noticed it during COVID so I assumed it was just so he and others that do it can use it as a mask if need be. I definitely could be wrong but I’ve seen a few clips of people with it and that’s the only logical thing I can think of.

this guy does his own thing, stays in his own lane, and puts out fucked up parts. people talk about him like he's nyjah. may not be everyone's favorite type of skating but i enjoy the change of pace.

People are really going in on Clive for slim fit jeans and faded tees and meanwhile in the Jordan Taylor thread people are big upping Jordan for wearing a Shortys shirt with Dickies and studded belt like it is the first day of middle school in 2000. Weird crowd

I dig the way the drums punctuate the part; I just listened to the orginal John Prine version and it just wouldn't have worked. Maybe now more people will seek out dude's music and he'll get more fans. I mean, post mortem is where most of the judging gets done anyway. Everyone on here's real salty about the soundtrack.

The snare drum went well with the lines. That line ending in the front bigspin down that huge set was great.

Yeah his fits aren't really that egregious IMO.

Who here among us wasn't wearing those type of jeans in 2012? Kinda sick that he's still running it rather than changing his shit up with every passing trend.

The weird early 2000s revival nowadays where everyone is dressing like AJ Soprano in the early seasons of the show is mystifying to me lol.

We should leave those fits with nu-metal in the past where they belong.

Fucking terrible music. You have to be a real redneck to like that shit. Clive is DEFINATELY a hammers skater, he shouldn't bother with filler tricks because they really look like ass. His enders were fun to watch.

that was absolutely horrible, the dude can't even push properly. Not to mention the music and the editing/cutting overall.

I would be embarassed to put that out holy fuck that was bad

Lmao imagine being this pathetically jaded on skateboarding. Yeah Clive should’ve just sat on that footage and never put it out so jaded clowns like you don’t have to go through the pain of watching it. Wack take bro.

Why would you wear something that barely functions as a mask that you wear all the time even while skating. Then probably never use as a mask anyway. Shit just seems like a corny fashion accessory for people who think they're too cool for masks.

I'm embarrassed reading that they're embarrassed by the idea of putting a part of this calibre out.

I really enjoyed the part and it had soooooo many standout tricks / moments. Including (who knew) a fucking fantastic flatground kickflip. Very few people do this in a video part, and even fewer are as justified as Clive's.

The Impale Rail was almost too much to watch.
That giant green noseblunt was something else too, I don't think we have seen that rail before?

i'm fully vaccinated, and i wear a bandana while i ride my bike. it started years ago when mountain biking, and it was an easy transition for covid. easy to pop it up when i have to be in close proximity of a group of people on a path. that way, i dont need to shove a mask into a sweaty pocket over and over

On the flip side of that same coin - you have people like Dakota who still have the That’s Life era kits going but he looks just fine. It just doesn’t work for Clive.

Just watched it properly and thought it was pretty good. The flatground kickflip at 2:08 was a highlight. Quite beautiful actually.

I actually love seeing how pros do the basics! Highlight for me as well

ha.

i dont hate clive. he is gnarly. he seems so insanely odd that i back it. his style is kinda shitty. he skates to the worst music.

clive dixon is the florida of skateboarding.

aggresively distateful but endearing all at once
[close]

well he is from cocoa beach. which is the most Florida of Florida. lmao

cocoa beach local here who also knows clive personally and has skated with him a couple weeks ago.

i think it's so funny how many people are obsessed with him. im sure he knows the extent of his popularity and maybe someone has told him how much people criticize his style but i wish i knew him enough to show him this thread, i think he would get a good kick out of it.

regardless of what you think the dudes one of the gnarliest skateboarders out point blank.

Why don't people just release parts with no music. Someone needs to make A new RUBBISH HEAP video.
