If you're using Firefox, it may have "Enhanced Tracking Protection" turned on. That's what was doing it for me. I don't really like having to turn it off to see Instagram content. It's pretty wild what data gets sent to Instagram if you scroll through a post that has an Instagram post embedded in it (this affects the whole internet).
I built a bot that will directly grab the Instagram image if you quote the post with the Instagram post, and then
@ the account, but it's got a few bugs to work out. It also has only been tested for single image posts, and not slide shows / video files.
