Free will is an illusion, but a necessary illusion. You’re definitely better off if you believe in it, because then you’ll have an internal locus of control and are more likely to be proactive and make the changes you need to make in life.

I think that you actually gain a lot of power when you choose to do the right things in life and that strong people help others around them and weak people destroy themselves and others. Everyone has a choice and the bad things you choose to do to people you have no excuses for because you know right from wrong.
At least my dad thinks so.

Insofar as we have food air and water we have free will if we don't have those things we become dead and can't do anything. Our will is free from the beginning and we can expand the scope of that freedom through acquiring knowledge.

Fate is the maze you have to navigate. But you have Free Will to take whatever turn you want.  Some say you can even reimagine the maze or get rid of it completely.

You and the D00D have turned this thread into a horrible head-on-collision between a short bus full of regular kids and a van full of paraplegics.

This makes me wonder if the whale in this movie wasn't really a metaphor for the kid's wiener, yearning to be freed from teenage horny jail.

There’s nothing quite so breathtaking as a brisk wank into the open sea. Landlubbers just don’t understand. 🏴‍☠️
