Mike is fine but I feel bad for the kids in that area that hung out in the shop. Not worried about Mike. Baker and I'm sure half the industry has his back. The locals are really who suffers if its indeed a wrap. Thinking back on it, it was weird that half of those Lotties vids featured ppl from other states and countries who often had other shop sponsors. Wish all the hype around that place translated to a shop that remained a staple for the locals.

Adidas team seems pretty normal and solid to me. some legends, some skater choice guys, some guys who are just real good, Nora, a bunch of non-americans for markets where Adidas is top , etc. the only guy that seems out of place is Frankie Spears but idk that much about him , maybe it makes sense.

Heard he opened a Nike account and they shipped him a bunch of stuff he didn't want and then they took his account away before he could even sell any of it. Classic Nike, always trying to shut down skateshops.

For real though, huge blow to skateboarding if he's closed permanently. Undoubtedly one of the best skateshops of all time.

gonz, who grew up in huntington, flew in from the foreign country of nyc to discover brent atchley, who skated for nike already, and recruited him to..not skate for adidas. seems clear cut to me

That’s always been my thoughts as well. It’s a lot harder for kids especially in that area to come up with all the obstacles they face only for a out of town hooked up dude to get the vid exposure on a national level. At least he gave them jobs and got em exposure in lookbooks for collabs for the time it was around if it’s truly done.

yup. He was living overseas at the time actually and saw Brent skating Burnside when he was a still a little kid, saw something in him and flowed him boards without letting him even know about it. He would send the boards to a local shop and it was kept secret that he was actually getting free flow from Mark.  Believe it because it's true.

Unless I'm sleeping on a gem, the Westside is not great. Lots of surf, bike longboard type deals. Then you have places where they can consistently move Baker or DLX product so that's about all they get in. Lotties wasn't even technically west but it was so close that it still counts. Maybe it's a real estate thing. The last place that looked like it could really be something was Courthouse and they've been gone a while I think.

lotties did not close BECAUSE of nickels incoherent ramblings. if anything it started with someone around nak irl saying something regarding the shop closing, and nickel being like "SO WHAT BRO THEY NEVER GAVE ME AND MY ANNOYING FRIENDS FREE SHIT JUST FOR EXISTING SO FUCK EM ANYWAY" type shit then starting burning lotties gear on live.

dude really peaked about 3 years ago. it wont be long before hes talking shit on ave and or dill at 3 am then deleting it thinking hes all good only to find out the only sponsor he has left is his fake bolt company and thunder. life really comes at you fast when "your steam is no longer a turd" or whatever he was yelling.
