im talking about the shape which is pretty different although shares similarities considering it is a different stage/model of the independent truck.

I like both, my goto’ are titanium 144’s.  Ace 44’s make my flip tricks kinda floppy and rocketed.  I can see Ace quality being higher nowadays, but I’m just geared towards indys.
When nothing in society deserves respect, we should fashion for ourselves in solitude new silent loyalties.

Grabs are a major blindspot in my knowledge but according to 'the internet':

The Indy was originally called the Gunnair, which was invented by Gunnar Haugo in 1977
but, Duane Peters (riding for Independent) popularized it around 1980.

Are there any other grabs ripe for re-naming? Gou might have something.

I like turtles!
By the way, anyone try turtle soup? I tried it in New Orleans when i went there for Jazz festival.
I enjoyed it, however I don’t think I’ll ever order it again.

I’ve had 3-4 pairs of ace and they all sucked. Broken pivot cups on every pair. I rode the same 149 independents from 2012-2017 then I switched to ventures. I also can not crooked grind on ace or thunders.

I ate turtle soup once when visiting the Caymans, not a fan.
Fried alligator though, fuck yes.

Also, I’m currently enjoying Aces; but was on Thunder for the decade+ prior.
Not mad at Thunders, but enjoying the switch.

before ace, indy was the best/deepest turn on the market

now that ace beefed up its hangars i dont ever see why people would skate a inferior truck such as indy other then familiarity and brand loyalty (what has indy done for you?)

the indy geometry is long outdated/inferior

Current quiver has Ace, Indys, and Thunders, so I guess I won’t have to pick sides.
Phew!
Dodged THAT bullet.

I wanna play you in a game of SKATE for the right to continue talking shit on me.  You think you got me?

For dudes like me with old, weak legs, aces are too heavy and the extra turn you get doesn't offset the weight. I'm not popping over anything huge now, but even getting up on knee height ledges, I can feel the extra heft from aces and they tire me out faster. If ace came out with a hollow or something similar I'd be all over it.

I’ve been curious to try the new aces, but I’ve skated indys for as long as I can remember, and always hated the idea of them being too heavy / unable to do flip tricks better like on thunders or a lighter truck, but they make hollows so there’s really no excuse. They are pretty damn light. Still curious to know if aces really are better in whatever ways..
