They're probably still transcribing his interview or he doesn't fuck with Jenkem after that one Carroll interview...

This ruled either way

Great piece, would love more pieces like this about things like the World Park or the World Exodus/Girl formation.

Great piece indeed, impossible not to love these guys.

I think my first exposure to Tiltmode Army came from Thrasher's Jaded in 2002. It had the Tiltmode part, Enjoi Tour with Jerry, Louie and MJ etc. and Caswell Berry part too. Think I saw Man Down a little later, but that Jaded VHS was in heavy rotation, because you couldn't get new videos every day.

After reading the article yesterday I went home with a couple of tall cans and watched the first two tiltmode videos.

First one was awesome. Then the second one blew me away. Had to show the homies to share the hype

This is my plan for this evening. I haven’t watched anything tiltmode for awhile but that interview made me remember how good those videos were.

Crazy to think of running around a city with a crew that large.

Such a good read.
Loved Jerry’s closing statement, super sincere.

I don’t think there was an era/scene that I wish I could’ve been more a part of than the late 90s/early 00s San Jose/Tiltmode scene (besides maybe the late 90s/early 00s Love park scene, woulda been crazy to have been a part of that too). Those Tiltmode days just looked so fun and those dudes were such lovable goof balls.

when friends ask to show them a skate video, tiltmode is one that i always bring up. their videos captured what it’s like to have a good crew of people around you, even if they skated or not. don’t think there can really be another “homie video” like these. really liked reading thru this piece from jenkem & the dudes i looked up to growing up. love how they’ve always fucked with jose!

I think the benchmark for a good skate video or at a good skate video from the late 90s to early 2000s is how much you quote it.

It’s actually stupid how much of Man down is in my day to day chatter.

Super cool. Also a good reminder of how rad the Toebock videos were too.

Also, I am not as old as LB, but pretty close and reading this about the south bay/San Jose during this time period, especially when punk rock was going off parallel and there were a lot of good bands from that area, is very halcyon/salad days feeling for me.
ok thanks

It took a while until I realized the sample from that song was from Get A Life and when I watched the episode it came from, I exploded like the crowd when you hear the bottle shatter in the Stone Cold Steve Austin entrance
