He does realize that technically, Giger and Griffin don’t need to be by each other to play skate at this point. They can literally like fucking use local filmers, Zoom one another, and play the game. Then Berra can edit it just like they do every game. Sure it’s not ideal but like it’s fucking possible. I’m glad it took 2 weeks for Berra to post a rhetorical question to the fans that he won’t actually listen to. Geiger vs. Griffin has been the single biggest match namedropped in the comments. Fucking move on to round 2 already and do a damn zoom match if you have to. It’s not impossible for them to meet up somewhere to do it, but if they can’t be bothered with doing it (and quarantining for a week if they’re that concerned), just do it remotely.

I think the bigger issue is that they didn’t realize whoever wins needs to come out for the next round, which makes it a virtual-only battle until someone loses. People are still traveling and moving around during Covid, maybe they don’t want to foot the bill to have these guys come out for an extended period of time?
