It’s the difference of skating in nice puffy cup soles and then being forced to wear Skytops for 15 years. The Es on his feet are just so much easier on the eyes
i'm talking more about him skating way more like a younger version of himself. he was hated on even on here pretty hard for whatever he put out for supra for example. i'd say this applies to footage of him from about 5-10 years ago. he looked pretty shaky sometimes, mobflips, and weird stiff arm steez. he just looks way more loose and in control of his board now. but he also looks healthier in photos, as if he gained a bit of weight and lives a healthier lifestyle.
but you also have a point with the shoes, penny in brown es is always classic and easy on the eyes. maybe the shoes really make him skate more like his younger self.
