Do any companies make shoes like this anymore?
« on: June 19, 2021, 09:54:29 PM »
I feel like this was the last real skate shoe I skated and actually loved. It was back in that weird time period where vulcs were made with an actual padded collar/tongue. Nowadays I feel like every shoe is just too thin and minimally padded as possible. But back to the topic at hand, do any companies still make shoes like this anymore?

Something like the Emerica Tilt G6 Vulc might be what you're looking for. It looks like it's got a thick-ish tongue, and the rest of the shoe seems pretty padded out, especially the collar.

Kyle Walker Pro's are cupsole, but they skate like a vulc. They're basically my goldilocks shoe. Might be a good idea.

That Tilt G6 looks pretty dead on. Gonna search and see if I can find them on sale anywhere. Thanks for the heads up, they weren't even on my radar.

Nike sb dunk if you got the cheddar
Everything went from huge tongue to now the nonexistent tongue.
Chima 1s had some lil padded tongues I liked when they first came out.
New balance might have something
Gotta just buff that shit

Emerica Pillar
Lakai Cambridge
Lakai Griffin
DC Kalis Vulc
Adidas Gazelle ADV
Entnies Joslin Vulc
New Balance NM22

These all seem to meet what you’re looking for from online pictures. If you want to be really bold though it looks like the Fallen revival shoes weren’t updated for 2021. Every model looks like how they were originally in 2007

Damn those are all good recommendations. Thanks for them and I was actually looking at Fallen's  website but idk if I'd be able to pull them off haha.

@EmericaTM did the mesh tongue on those Tilt G6s get replaced with a canvas tongue instead? Seems like some sites have pics with mesh and others with canvas material.

Vans Rowley Pro is probably what you're looking for. Not sure if they're still making them, but they were not too long ago, so there's probably still pairs floating around if you hunt. The Vans Rowan Pro might work for you too. Not as thick in the tongue, but the collar is padded. I haven't tried the Rowans, but I've heard people say they're similar to Half Cabs in fit/feel, but the collar is a little lower.
