There are different laws so it's hard to simply say what an illegal trick is but a pop shove tail grab is illegal because it's a pop shove without doing the hardest part of the trick.

For us mere mortals there are no ‘illegal’ tricks.

Varial flips, nollie lip slides, nose stall reverts, nose pivot to disaster. I do them all.

I think Salba style nose grinds on transition should be illegal also. This is where your board is more in the transition than on the deck. Like a slash nose grind. I do those also. And love them.

There are way too many to list, but a trick can be illegal and get a pass if done amazingly well. Like, if MJ or Brad Cromer do something illegal (Cromer's Body Varial or MJ backside 180 late backfoot flip) it's done so clean no one cares. But for like 95% of Pros don't film that and put it in a part. Same with Bledsoe's backlips on ledges.

Are all late flips generally frowned upon?
Always hated the Sewa style combos that just looks like button mashing irl

I'd say late-backfoot flips are definetely illegal. They fall under a lot of those crazy tricks you see in the early 90's New Deal videos. Similar to pressure flips. Pressure flips are illegal but no one gives a shit when its Mike Carroll doing one over a table, because its Mike Carroll and he's doing it over a fucking table.

No tricks are illegal in my book. Sure, some are hideous, but I don't take it too seriously. Sometimes a trick is so ugly it generates a big laugh or wide eyed amusement. Some are so perfect and effortless that I feel nothing.

Kalis has a clip of him doing a grab over a trash can on his IG and it's beautiful. Skating is always better when people feel free to do whatever they want.

I feel illegal tricks should really only apply to pros or people trying to be pro and putting it in there part (and there are exceptions if you do it insanely well or its a fuck around part like Chomp). Fucking around at a park or with friends its just whatever.

They are subjective....there may be be exceptions...my illegal trick list relates to pros because they are pro.. Ie: Bennett grinds : crime: questionable dipping.  The back truck should never be lower than the front, you shouldn't Ollie into a switch trick...you're a pro...do a back 180 nosegrind.....style helps dig the pro out ie. I like Matt Bennett...honestly...smiths and feebles should just be left alone...don't over handle them....

Double and triple flips belong in the driveway not in someone's video part.

I feel you but a well caught doubleflip makes or breaks that trick.

I have a soft spot for them but i do agree 95% of the time the person doing them is terrible

Tbh any sort of kicker ramp is whack to me, stacking up boards under a metal grate just seems like too much work and one step away from 90s jump ramp grabs.

No complies are fine with me but you pull out a boneless and im calling the cops.

Ive been skating for 15 years and wont do a front shuv bc one day they were everybody's go to trick, its not a good trick if everybody has them

I could go on

On flat? Yes, against the law. Boosting one a few feet over the coping? Legal as FUCK.

Guilty. The b/s shuv both switch and regs is my staple but a  front shuv does not go. Something about that front scoop that does not compute and I'm at the point of acceptance where I don't even attempt them.
