Industrial/EBM appreciation
« on: July 26, 2021, 11:59:16 AM »
Any other fans of old school industrial and EBM music out there? Ministry, Skinny Puppy, Front 242, Current 93, KMFDM, Whitehouse, Neubauten, My Life With the Thrill Kill Cult, Laibach, Front Line Assembly, Test Dept., Die Krupps, etc. Everything from the heavier stuff like Godflesh, Fear Factory or Prong, the more mainstream stuff like NIN and Rammstein, if that’s your thing, or all the proto-industrial groups that helped create the genre like Throbbing Gristle, Swans, Coil and Cabaret Voltaire, it all qualifies.

Been jamming this one lately, nice little remix from Rhys Fulber and Bill Leeb of Frontline Assembly:

Ooooh, Nitzer Ebb, can’t believe I left ‘em out. ‘Belief’ is my favorite record of theirs, but I adore all their material from their first record up until ‘Big Hit’. All the later records are good as well, just a little different and experimental. Front 242 was one of the first industrial acts I got into as a youngster in my post NIN-obsession phase (still have love for NIN, they were one of my first favorite bands as a kid, and I also got to see them live a few years ago, around 2017/18 with The Jesus and Mary Chain, and it was a great show) along with Skinny Puppy and Ministry. ‘Official Version’ helped open up the floodgates to a lot more shit.

A couple of favorites of mine:

Second the love for Nitzer Ebb. Babyland is one of my all time favorite bands. They really brought down the house every time at the Gilman https://youtu.be/dRWqVgwxCgg
