The Replacements
« on: August 12, 2021, 06:26:50 AM »
Hey Pals, not sure if this thread will be interesting but just wanted to see if there were any other Replacement heads on here.

Anyways here's what I've been listening to from them.

Huge fan.  The documentary on Amazon prime is fantastic, despite having no members involved or any rights to the music.

Agreed! That doc was fantastic. I remember someone calling them in the doc "lovable losers" and I thought that rocked even though they are incredibly cool!

Damn that was a great live performance. Cool to see Bobby and Tommy rocking together :'( Also, Chris Mars is so underrated as a drummer.

can't believe how not massive they are. i honestly was unaware of them until i met my current girlfriend.

i get this kind of alternative bruce springsteen vibe out of them. not that they sound like bruce, i don't know, the songwriting voice - maybe i'm tripping with that comment.

anyway, they are beautiful!

if anyone here is a fan of the placemats and hasn’t read trouble boys i implore you to do so. easily the best book about music i’ve ever read. gives a really full story on the band and a lot of in depth info on the tunes and shenanigans. one of the best things i’ve read recently

I hate music. It's got too many notes.

You and the D00D have turned this thread into a horrible head-on-collision between a short bus full of regular kids and a van full of paraplegics.

i hear you. obviously they're not tiny but they could very legitimately be a lot more widely and vocally appreciated than they are.

My homie was raving about it. Definitely gonna check it out.
