I remember seeing Bam do one at FDR in either One Step Beyond or one of the CKYs and he called it a gnar dog drop in so that’s what me and my friends called them. Maybe it was something FDR locals did and people outside of the east coast saw it and just started calling it an east coast drop in.

Might've been me with the comment - When I started skating in 05-06 in NJ I seen kids drop in with their wheels on the deck of the qp and slap their board on the coping on the way in. I asked why they dropped in like that and they said 'East Coast' drop ins look cooler.

I heard the term a lot in other tri-state parks. Anyone shed some light on the origin?
