I've been hopping in and out but it runs like shit on my PC. Even with all of the settings turned pretty low I get about 40 fps.

I had the shits today, so maybe I’ll catch it next time. Some of the streams looked good though.

Just ran a quick round of multiplayer and it runs SIGNIFICANTLY better for me than the beta did. Granted my CPU probably needs some upgrading at this point, it's nice to know this game isn't unplayable for me with my current rig.

I’m psyched to play this on XB1 when it releases. Halo 2 was my first online multiplayer game, and when 3 came out, my roommates and I would play it HEAVY. Played 5 a bit but meh. Hopefully they turn back the clock to the Halcyon days with infinite, if it’s good would even been interested with teaming up with some of ya’ll

I play this on the old xbox one. Still have to figure out the controller settings. This game feels incredibly fast for me gameplay wise and I am not used to that. MCC in comparison feels slower but more managable. And I find the radar pretty useless. But it feels cool to invest some time into a game and hopefully get better. Right now, I absolutely suck at ranked games.

Upgraded to a Series S a couple weeks ago mostly for this game, gotta pay tribute to the endless hours I spent on Halo 1 and 2.

Stoked for the campaign to drop but also really enjoying the multiplayer - I found that decreasing the controller deadzones and increasing the look sensitivity helps it feel more like the older games. Still regularly get annihilated and called a slur by some mic’d up 17 year old, so glad that time honored tradition lives on, I guess.

Anyone have any strong feelings on the progression/unlockables/challenges? It’s not really an issue to me either way but I guess I’m not the target audience for it (see aforementioned slur using 17 year olds).

Can I ask your opinion on the S? Been thinking about getting one just for game pass and halo. I’m more of a PlayStation guy now, but I loved my OG Xbox back in the day and regularly lugged a 32” crt tv around for LAN parties at my boy Steve’s place.

For sure an incremental upgrade from the Xbox One rather than a game changer, but I appreciate the shorter load times and graphics improvements. I pretty much got it for the same reasons as you, and overall I’m glad I did, it’s dead silent and much smaller than the One/360.

Got a Series X last week just for this game basically, been playing any chance I get and aside from the battle pass problems and the lack of playlist choices I gotta say this game is terrific.

My headset is still coming in the mail but if anyone wants to party up feel free to add me, Zack138 is my gamer tag

The Halo subreddit has been shut down due to "toxicity". Loads of death threats and doxxing. Fucking class😂 you have to admire how passionate these nerds are.

The battle pass is fucked and the microtransactions are ridiculously priced ($25 for an armor set?!?!) but people need to learn to put down the damn controller and walk away for a while, shit is not that serious, especially in a free-to-play game that runs terrific and is fun to play. It's not like they paid $65 for a game that is broken (looking at you Cyberpunk) not that that would justify death threats either

The progression system is jacked and microtransactions are stupid, but honestly I'd forgive all of that if they would just let us pick our preferred game type and give us playlists.

I'm sure that's coming soon though.

I ended up doing the all access program for a series X, only $10/month more than the S. As soon as it gets here I’ll share my gamertag. I’m pumped. Didn’t realize bethesda was bought by Microsoft too, so I would have had to pick one up eventually

For those playing on PC: are you doing mouse and keyboard or controller?

I was using mouse and keyboard as I would any shooter but was surprised to hear that a lobby I was in was almost unanimously playing with controllers. They were really good too, so there might be something to it. I'm finding lots of conflicting reports regarding aim assist on the controller so idk what to believe. But if I get good enough with the controller it would be cool to play on both my computer AND my Xbox/big TV.

Used to play with controller back on ElDewrito but switched to mouse and keyboard. I'm pretty sure that mouse and keyboard will always be the most accurate, right?

That's how I feel about shooters in general, but I ran a few rounds on a controller and was kinda killin it. Maybe it's just ingrained after so many years of playing Halo on an Xbox controller but it was nice.

Infinite brings the series back to its roots but adapted for the modern landscape.

I've played 8-10 hours of the campaign yesterday and more today. Yes, I have gone outside to take multiple breaks  ;D

Just started playing a few days ago. Haven’t touched a Halo since the disappointment that was Halo 4.

Fucking loving this. Haven’t bought the full game yet, probably will eventually, but currently having a ball playing multiplayer. Took me 3 games until the muscle memory was back, now it feels like the a faster, cleaner, slicker version of Reach.

The inevitable playlist patch can’t come soon enough though. If anyone wants to party up, gamer tag is PrinzKek

On winter break for classes, so other than work on some nights I got a lot of free time.

Really don't fucking like it, my friends got me to play quite a few hours with them, as friends do, and it feels almost as soulless as splitgate. They're fine games overall, but compare these to Halo Reach, a(n 11 year old) game that is only held back by the fact that you have to pay for it or for game pass. Halo Reach, and its predecessors actually make you feel something when you play them. Im on the brink of insanity however

What don't you like about it? Personally I think this is the best Halo has been since Reach. Are you referring to the campaign or the multiplayer? Because I'm gonna be honest, I've been a fan since Combat Evolved and I don't think they ever made me feel something besides 'rad!' while playing these games. I don't come to Halo for depth of feeling, I just want fun multiplayer. Just my opinion.

I didn’t get the campaign because the multiplayer experience justified not getting it. And I agree with you, every halo up until 4 (which tbh was not that bad) was legitimately groundbreaking at the time, and still hold up or in ODST’s case, an important game for a new narrative that was in such large contrast to the rest of the games, in a way nobody expected. Damn, I’ve got to replay that one, now that I think about it. But yeah, I’m not saying a game needs to make me feel something in order for me to like it, I mean I’ll play anything. I just do not like this game because it feels like a “can I copy your homework” game. How’s the campaign?

I was, but I've been hit with a bug for the past few days that won't let me load any saves. Countdown timer starts, and nothing happens after it ends. I've already reported it to 343 but no response, and I'm not the only one affected by this. It sucks because not only did I pay $60 for something I can't even play,. but it seems to be an under reported issue.
