Metal Slug loses part of its charm when you have unlimited continues, but I'm also happy to not lose $10 in 20 minutes. 3 and 6 are really unforgiving past Level 1.

Holy shit I remember earthworm Jim but I had it on the computer

Battletoads, too, holy fuck I forgot about that game

I couldn’t ever make it past the hover motorbike level

That game was pretty hard

It was sick how you could kill those tripod things and bash cunts with it’s leg
listen to cosmic psychos

Camel Slug

Metal Slug 6 with Ralph and Clark was the best, taking the signature wackiness to the next level with the Vulcan Punch and Clark's 2nd life.

Random but, via your slow-mo, I just noticed the 360 flip in this game is actually a 360 inward heelflip. Now the form of that trick in that game always looked off, but only realizing exactly why decades later is crazy.

Grind Session is also a mandatory play on the PlayStation.

its funny becuase i knew this skater mike crook who claimed he could do the double but never had the footage. i asked him how and he wouldnt tell me. i figured it out though.  8)

there is a exploit you can use to get speed with hills in the game. basically the way it works is when you push down a hill then quickly push back up one, you wont lose any momentum. you will gain all the speed and the effects of going back up the hill will be completely ignored.

so in this case, there are 2 hills with hubbas located near the double set kinda (off to an angle a bit). you need ot make sure you are executing your first push right at the moment you drop in to the hill going down. continue pushing the entire time - immediately turn and go right back up the hill again. i believe the exact route i take is i go down the left side of the stairset and come back up the other side of it. hug the wall and then carve in right. much easier with loose trucks + if you are using scab. also note 3 flips will send you higher than a straight ollie with little to next to no time charging triangle. might be able to make a vid later if you cant get it. keep pushing the entire time right up to the set or else i think you will lose your speed.

dont think so man i juts re watched it as well looks like the first frame you can see it , you see grip tape, which would indicate to mee kickfflip way. if it was heelflip then you would see the graphic first not the grip tape.

I rewatched just to make sure and no, it really does 360 inward heelflip although I see what you mean. It's hard to tell because of how the skater's foot moves and the angle of the camera but really try and pay close attention to the way the board flips on the slow-mo without looking at clues (maybe pretend the skater doesn't exist). If you pause on the right frames in succession and imagine yourself doing the trick, you should see it.

Looks like silhouette was correct.  In fast motion I think they look like 360 flips.  Looks sure can be deceiving.  I think they definitely look better than the 360 flips in THPS1 though.

Haha I never played grind session or skate and destroy, but definitely remember ads. One grind session ad had Ed Templeton front 5050ing a rail and I think that was one if my first actual skate photos that I ever saw.

I hope you like doing a lot of reading becaues Xenogears has hours of cut scenes chock full of religious backstory. The Gears (mecha) are cool, but the pacing really slows in disc 2 with an unskippable 30 minutes section covering 1 character's back story.

          Pilotwings
          Total Carnage
          super bomber man
          Donkey Kong
Super Mario World (always fun to re-play)
          Super Mario All Stars

ps1: silent hill
        Resident evil
        Myst
        Cool Borders 3
        Twisted Metal

I'll still check it out! Xenogears and Star Ocean are on my list for sure.

Maximum Carnage, shit...I still own it, the red cartridge. I played it not too long ago, I could never get past like the third or fourth level. The music and graphics are cool, it's super arcade-like which is why I like it.

I've beaten Contra 3 before, such a fun game but the second last level gives me slight motion sickness with all the spinning sand traps. Definitely recommend it, me and my cousins had a lot of fun playing that game back in the day.

Pilotwings and Myst are two I'll check out. I heard about Myst way, way back and never looked into it.

Haha, my brother and I were talking yesterday about how we both have wanted to play myst since we were small children and never got around to it all this time later but I think I’m going to take a crack at it too. I’ve just been having a blast with the games I’ve been playing lately.

Oh, sick! I never knew that much about it besides the fact that it was a popular computer game. I barely played computer games aside from Mechwarrior and fucking Shareware, haha.

Rock and Roll Racing on SNES!

Amazed they put that much money into a licensed soundtrack. It's a trip to hear Highway Star playing on a SNES game!

Super Mario RPG is another gem too, you'll have to be creative and sail the high seas for a copy.
