Krooked vs Antihero vs Real shapes
« on: October 13, 2021, 07:38:26 PM »
I know they’re all under the Deluxe umbrella, but are the shapes of the boards any different? Specifically the 8.5x31.8, but really is there any difference, or is it just different board graphics?

For example, Baker and Deathwish. The shapes aren’t the same even though the dimensions are. Baker noses and tails tend to be more pointy, but Deathwish seems to be more full and round.

I’ve found I much prefer a rounded nose and tail as opposed to pointy or squared. Thanks for educating me.

It is a funny one as some people used to swear they were different, but when asking DLX directly, they say no they are all the same standard shapes and sizes used throughout all their brands.

The one thing to consider though, yes they are all the same, but there are a lot and I mean LOT of shapes, so even in one width, there can be a number of them, which is what can confuse people, eg

8.5 x 31.85, 14.25 wb
8.5 x 32.25, 14.38 wb
8.5 x 32.5, 14.75 wb

Not sure if you have checked out this thread, but DLX Shapes has a lot of info in it.

This one not so much, but it is still interesting to read:

DLX board sizes are always off

Thanks. I tried looking through the Deluxe shape thread, but felt like it focused more on overall dimensions and not as much on if any of the noise and tail shapes were different from brand to brand, at least at a skim through. I suppose now it’s time to deep dive into that shape thread!

Sometimes there is a lot to go though on Slap, often easier starting with the more recent pages, than right from the beginning, as the thread started way back, over six years ago.

I would also keep an eye on DLXSF.COM and the associated websites too.

The catalog listings always get updated fairly regularly, but nowdays it is a little hard to look through their older catalogs unless you know exactly where to look, harder than it used to be anyway, when things were always listed with / summer2020 or such name, eg:

The normal links here:

https://www.dlxsf.com/

https://www.realskateboards.com/

https://www.antiheroskateboards.com/

https://krookedskateboarding.com/

* Krooked still has direct links to their old catalogs from the past year though.

I might just be proving myself wrong, but probably should mention that there were specific rider shapes, which were more unique to that guy on which ever brand he was on, but all the other normal shapes are used throughout.

Antihero - Cardiel Huffer shape, Raney shape, Robbie shape, Kanfoush shape

Krooked - Ronnie shape, Anderson shape

Real - Ishod twins, which were also adopted by Bobby Worrest for Krooked

These just came out on Real too, so I guess if they are popular there might be more of them, but I guess wait and see.
