Balance how you feel about gate keeping then go from there?

I told a dude where my slappy spot is. It was not a good feeling. Like I betrayed my spot. Strange but true.

couple of years ago I would've said go for it. But there's so many skaters out now, esp in a bigger city, a spot just blows out too quick. I mean you could still do it with "staple spots" I guess, but then you'd be catering to tourists + locations are usually already availble online...

I guess, ask yourself, who are you writing this for?

The app Spotsesh actually has the ability to create private spots, that others are able to view but not see the exact location.  That way if they really want to skate it they can add you as a friend and you can share it if you want.  That would be a good medium of sharing but not blowing the spot up.

My sentiment is, just go with it. With the spots you mentionend that sounds that most people would be way too lazy to even hit these spots instead of the local park (at least it would be like that for most skaters in my town). And like others said, it's not like that'll blow up like in social media outlets.

Op this is a fun idea, go for it. Make sure you leave out DIYs spots for the sake of privacy so that the city or the owner don't demolish  others people hard work.

I looked up my city (well now, Grenoble) and there is only one spot listed and everyone knows about it. If I get around to it I'll add the skateparks and a few places that are very well known. Defo not my slappy spot thou.

Nah let people find their own spots. Tell people where a spot is if they want to know and you’re down to share. Or tell however many friends you want. But keep it to word of mouth. I don’t understand why anyone would ever think it’s a good idea to mass produce something that can be shared and re-shared containing an index of all the spots you like to skate. Borderline masochism.
