Sneaky Secrets Deck Sell-Off Extravaganza
« on: October 29, 2021, 01:27:18 PM »
I have a bunch of decks I want to get rid of in exchange for $$.  I’ll discount if you get multiple boards to save on boxes.  You pay shipping.  I went with 3 tiers.  PayPal or Venmo.

The Bronze Tier - $20

Meet the Bronze Tier.  For the skater looking for boards on a budget.

-Snack 8.25 SOLD
-DOA flat 8.25 SOLD
-Quasi 8.25 SOLD
-Some mystery deck with a bunch of stickers 8.12 maybe
-Plan B 8.25
-GX1000 8.12
(disregard the one one the right)

The Silver Tier - $30

The Silver Tier offers a tasteful upgrade.  Boards have one been skated for a session or two.

-Baker o.g. 8.12
-DOA standard 8.25
-Quasi 8.25
-Sour 8.25
-Hotel Blue 8.18 (I think?)
-Orchard 8.25

The Gold Tier - $40

The Gold Tier is reserved for only the freshest, most pristine decks, either new or skated for like under 10 min.

DOA flat 8.25
Evisen 8.25
Politic 8.1
Theories 8

At my local shop, the shopowner runs some program where he gives used decks to underprivileged kids.

So I went in there with a thrashed Kalis DGK deck (the Alien collectable deck) that I had skated the shit out of.

The shopowner wasn't there, but some new kid was minding the store, so I walked up to the counter with this deck that looked like it went to hell and back, and I was all, "I'd like to make a return."

You should've seen the look on the kid's face. After I admitted it was for the underprivileged kid program, he told me I "just made [his] day."

: )
"Was just about to say, wtf is up with this EdLawndale guy?"

I am tempted by that DOA flat deck. What's the wheelbase?
This is not my SOTY. I'm telling my kids there was no SOTY for 2021

@Esmith5488 same here..My wife actually counted the ones in the bedroom closet yesterday. I acted disgusted when I heard the final number. I was actually kind of impressed with myself.

Did you have to take professional acting classes to do that convincingly? Asking for a friend.

As a fellow married man, I agree.

My wife hasn't found the stash hidden under the bed, that was from The Great Gear Shortage of 2020

Great hiding spot then. I'm glad we were able to survive the shortage relatively unscathed. I imagine it was horrific for the unprepared. Come to think of it if I hear there might be another shortage, I will have to find some new safe places. At this point survival is a talent.
Again glws Sneaky..sorry for continuing to trespass here.

Oh man, you kinda admitted it’s an issue by acting disgusted. Next time, deflect, or try some what-about-isms. Play the blame game. Perhaps she snores, either way how will she know?   8)

;D Hell ya! That would be a great tactic, I have to be more methodical with my ways for sure..I appreciate the intel, and will report back if successful.

"Dear, these were gifts"

I make sure to call it out only when I buy a deck cheap.

"I picked up a new deck today off Craigslist for $25." "It was in the bargain bin at the shop for $35"

I never say a thing when I just spent $83 on a Powell Flight.

She thinks all of my decks cost $35 or under.

That's where she was at price wise until a month ago. We were in the White mtn's of NH on vacation and I saw a little shop. So I swung in and grabbed a deck. Not thinking I came out and slapped the $60 receipt down beside me, wife picked it up and said "why did you just pay so much for just a deck" I told her I didn't know that things were so expensive in NH or I wouldn't of got it. I fucked up and I knew it. Being a seasoned veteran, I quickly took her out for a margarita and haven't heard shit since.

I will also say that my wife doesn't pay enough attention to the stack in the garage to know when a new one comes in.

But my kids always seem to notice any new deck, and they often ask me about it in front of her.

Ha! That earns them absolutely zero points with Dad.
