The key to organization is dont just put it down. Put it away in an easy to find place. It takes two extra seconds and you lose stuff way less often. Same concept works for digital files. Like naming everything you download

If you don’t already have one, get a watch.
yes, BUT read the watch thread first and do a lot of research into what you’ll buy; I’ve bought and flipped so many watches over the years …

Should be a no brainer, but don't mess with opiates.

Staying away from pills and powders all together is the best bet.

You can get CBT/learn strategies to manage ADHD and other sources of inattentiveness, and it's worthwhile to try before prescription medication. Also sleep hygiene and diet beat caffeine every time

Shoot small, miss small.

Sounds like my skating

But honestly, I don't think I agree with this. I don't have a lot of regrets, but I wish I didn't play everything so safe all the time when I was younger. I wish I was less timid and had more confidence, took more risks and bet on myself more than I did. I let a lot of opportunities pass just because I didn't believe in myself.

I'd tell people shoot big and keep shooting. Don't let yourself be your biggest obstacle.

Floss at least several times a week
[close]

I was never a flosser ‘til a friend of mine told me to floss just between a few teeth and to smell it. He told me if I did that, I’d find out why it’s important and I’d be a flosser for life.

I now floss everyday after almost every meal, that odor was straight-up FOUL and disturbing.
Piggybacking on the floss love, a family friend is a dentist and I remember him telling me years and years ago that instead of the usual 2mins of brushing, flossing for 30sec and brushing for 30secs after is infinitely more beneficial, in half the time.

One nugget of wisdom my dad put in my brain as a youngin is that while accidents are bound to happen, do your best to put yourself in a position where an accident cannot happen. Example: if you have a drink on the same table as your laptop, it's possible you could accidentally knock it over and fry your laptop. But if you put your drink on another table/the floor, there's no possible way your laptop is getting fried. Not the wisest words ever but that stuck with me for whatever reason.

My dad wisdom was: don’t get tattoos in place that you can’t hide with work clothes. That one worked out well considering my current location. On the topic of tattoos: don’t get them on your hands, neck or face unless the rest of your body is covered (and you’ve secured a career that doesn’t care about the fact that you have them)

Yeah bro for sure, the downside is that cunts that don’t know you think you’re a tweaker
The upside is if you develop your own system that works for you, you can go full robot and just rape work
Sounds arrogant but sometimes cunts I don’t know, like I can tell they reckon I’m stupid or something cause I talk a lot but you can just go mad quiet and start raping work and cunts full shit themselves and they gotta work harder too trying to keep up
You can ruin cunts days just raping them without breaking a sweat if you have a good system that works for you
It’s sick
They usually don’t talk shit after that which is good cause I fucking hate doing too much work
You only gotta get your dick out like, once usually

When you put your pants in the dryer, make sure to always pull the pockets out beforehand so they can dry more easily. Otherwise, you're looking at having dry pants with wet pockets, and that's no fun.

To get the most out of your tube of toothpaste, start rolling it up when there's not a lot left. Rolling it up makes more toothpaste come out.

- you don’t need to wear skate shoes when you’re not skating

I got roundly mocked here for this opinion a few months ago. I don't really wear skate shoes when I'm not skating because
A) I work from home and operate a strict shoe-free house
2) I don't want to prematurely wear my skate shoes
III) Skate shoes aren't particularly comfortable and wearing my puffy Brooks shoes causes my significantly less pain

I wear skate shoes like I wear cycling shoes, when I am doing the activity. I don't necessarily pop them off if I run into the grocery store for 10 minutes on my way home, but to me, the idea of heading out for a day of non-skating in a pair of worn-ass skate shoes makes absolutely no sense.
This is not my SOTY. I'm telling my kids there was no SOTY for 2021

-Line-dry your clothes whenever possible. This costs nothing, prolongs the life of the clothes, and is dramatically better for the environment

On that flossing tip
-Invest in a decent electric toothbrush. A basic $30 Sonicare will last and works great. Unless you're Biebel, you only get one set of teeth

I keep my finished takeout containers in an plastic bag in an area of my fridge until I take out the trash (every 2-3 days) so as not to attract mice. Mice don't care if its a take out container in a trash can. It still smells like fucking food.

Any tips on line drying clothes and still having nice soft clean laundry? Am I using too much detergent or something? Also I live in a humid climate so that may hinder efforts to use the machine dryer less often

When you spill something, don’t just leave it there for hours and ignore it.

When you leave a room, turn off the god damn light.

If the AC is on, don’t have your window open.  I’m not paying to cool the outside.

Take out the garbage before it starts to stink.
