Lets say you get 1 minute worth of lines a month

Thats 30 mins in a year

10 parts

Low impact pros have little excuse imo

Obviously a stair / rail guy to release 1 part a year would be impressive

True... for instagram maybe. These guys hold themselves to high standards. They aren't going to throw easy tricks up in video parts. They aren't going to keep doing the same go-to's they have in their bags either. The answer lies somewhere in the middle of these 2 arguments, without including injuries

dumb opinion, this would reduce the quality of footy bc no pro has an infinite bag of tricks & i don't wanna see pros doing easy tricks. if our 17 year old park rats can do it, i dont wanna see it in your part

Takes me into the Reynolds subject where he said if he put hands on the ground or slid for his part he would just go redo it. Not all parts have to be super long either but I'd rather do something I'm stoked on than just saying I filmed for the day

you are underestimating how much time a three second clip takes.  it makes more sense to do a couple clips in 1 day because you always have the travel time of leaving your house to going somewhere interesting. you can only film so many clips in your home area too , after awhile it even becomes stale for instagram.. so youd be forced to relocate entirely to keep up that charade.

OK so with the travel time, you also have to factor in the preparation time of going to like a curb or skatepark ledge to learn the trick in the first place, then seek out a good spot to do it on. then factor in lining up all the filmers , photogs etc.

OK Great so we have learned the trick, we have the spot, we have filmers, we are at the spot. NOW it takes another 3 hrs sometimes to get the trip... not to mention lets say you dont get it that day. multiple trips back...

for 3 seconds of footage
i think that jack ogrady rail to rail is only like 10 sec of his part run time... if you have hear the story on that. it was like several months to find the spot. then 2 seperate vissits of 4 hrs each of trying. not to mention how fucking insanely risky that was. But a cover of thrasher and potential trick of the year. I think they have to give him trick of the year for that because he did it early wasnt trying for no SOTY bs and really nothing out did that.

If you’ve seemingly figured out the equation, then why aren’t you pro? What’s your excuse? Post your part   :-*
personally I can only hope to be remembered in a slap post three years after my death, with my name spelled wrong

I think they should have to film full parts every week to prove to me how they've been spending their time. I want to know that they did 40 hours of skating this week OR ELSE.

(an over abundance of high fives and hugs, post trick, does not count)

So if 75% of pros have to drive Uber to survive financially, where does this reduce their footage minute wise speaking if they film 30 minutes of footy per year?

Keeping in mind that 1 minute of lines per month = 30 minutes per year.

Are pros expected to produce (1) 3 second clip/day while also affording their cost of living through Uber?  Or are they allowed days off to focus on Uber meaning they must film 2 clips on skate days?

Those are trivial metrics used to measure " Sk8tEr oUtPuT". How about we try to get away from 3-second Instagram-hell and focus on putting down cool fucking parts.
