Here we are again. This week, The Berrics is... back? Alexis Ramirez continues to be very good at skateboarding, and the hunt for a more elusive style of NBD.

Colonoscopy vid leading into fullpipe footage made me laugh. That's the intro for Salba's next (only?) video part.

Marriage footage is surreal as well. I didn't see Soundtrack so that was new to me. I don't totally know the point of putting it in a skate vid, but I'm not hating.

Perfect Salba opener. Would assume he's already got that b-roll somewhere. After writing that, I had a flashback to a transition like that being done in an Antihero video or something similar, but couldn't find it.

A life hammer amidst the skate hammers.

Thanks for reading!

In a twist I'm sure most didn't see coming, it seems that World Skate, skateboarding's Olympic governing body, does not have skateboarders' best interests at heart.

@Simple Magic these just keep getting better
Alan Rickman skate video reviews had me laughing and the piece on Cody McEntire (aka the racist human bobblehead) had me semi-hoping that the dude chokes on a toothpick.

Pretty sure all Ams on KROOKED and REAL do not get paid. It is possible that they give their Ams an incentive when they film a video part, but thats speculation. These skaters should be compensated, especially when their names are attached to the branding of the video like you pointed out. DLX and other brands in the industry seem to rely heavily on their team riders shoe sponsors to pick up the tabs on travel for the production of these videos as well. Selling products to Zumiez must not be as lucrative as one would think for DLX to be able to take care of the Ams on their teams. Maybe it is time for them to open up direct to consumer online? They have prided themselves for not doing so for many years now, yet still selling to Zumiez which one would think competes with the "core" shops.

Enjoy your weekly perspective on skate, Thanks.

I thought DLX AMs did get paid, but now that you say that, I'm not actually sure. If not, they certainly should be (as all AMs should). And if that's the case and it takes some restructuring of their business model to get there, you'd hope that'd be something that would be entertained. Being an "independent contractor" is rough going in this business.

Thanks for reading the thing.

Spent an excessive amount of time trying to trace the origin of those bootleg Bobby Puleo skateboards. I talked to everyone from the Chinese sporting goods manufacturer who makes them, the people behind Infamous Skateboards whose graphics were originally ripped off, to Puleo himself.

Great job on this. Some of the best skate journalism I’ve read in a while, you put in work. Still wonder if Bobby has a chance with a lawsuit, as they’re making money selling product with his name on it.

Thanks for reading! Yeah, I'm not sure. It seems like a long shot, but you never know. There could be some Bolang bucks to collect.
