This is terrible and I hope it can be saved, but I would feel worse if I didn't strongly suspect that Freddie has probably half a dozen other DIYs already going in various stages.

I hope his spot survives, and I signed the petition, but he built it into an overpass, and on the pillars.  DOT people generally don’t like that, and I think a lot of other diys got destroyed for the same reason.  They going to be worried about it effecting the structural integrity of the overpass.  I hope he doesn’t get in too much trouble

I fear there will be a subsequent gofundme for Fred's substantial legal costs.

some chode named evanbarlowmusic on IG got his info and keeps reposting some shit video he had Fred record prior to stealing his main account.

either way a few guys from gas and electric companies that have come thru have commented that the spot shouldn't affect their maintenance if needed.

feels like DIYs get heated out so fast these days... even a good waxed curb doesnt last more than a season these days

I'll sign it and I've got a large place in my heart for DIY spots, but I feel like these petitions don't really amount to much.

Hope I'm wrong though.

Whoever the news filmer was they were pretty good at filming tricks and editing them

Usually newscasters film bails and edit clips mid trick or poorly framed

Shoutout to this news team. Shout out Frederick Gall

nothing's been the since same

this will prob be more common as more and more kids with skate backgrounds go to art school for editing... my brother went to SVA and said the school made a policy "no more skate videos as projects" cause literally that's what everyone with the major was turning in.

side not... i love diy spots but it's always comical to me how hurt people get when they end.. like you didn't have permission... and didn't exactly keep this place on the low...

it's like graffiti... enjoy it while it lasts but expecting it to last is silly

My mom saw the news clip on local NJ cable and told me she thought I should sign the petition

She also said Fred looked “a little like a derelict”

Regardless as to the fate of the spot, I hope Fred doesn’t end up with any serious legal problems. The state of NJ should just send him a monthly check to build spots, if you ask me.

4700 sigs and counting

Uncle Freddy is an international treasure and should be protected. If I was in charge of NJ I'd pay him to build legal spots everywhere, forever

If a lowly peasant like myself was permitted to skate it it might move me but the likes of me will never see the inside of such a place
