The yin to Muska's yang. Both sorta crispy in similar ways and even kinda do the same nervous laugh after they say something but apparently you really can't fade the Mu$ka.

On penis pushing, it reminds me of piss peddling. Probably why Lil B wound up so good at switch.
them cats are out getting mashed up to jungle, he's out mashing up jungle cats. it's just not gonna work.

I had to turn off that Indy video. Listening to him speak is insufferable. Apparently I'm the only one around here that feels like this?

Nah, you’re not alone.
Shit made me downright uncomfortable.
But hey, I’m soft.

This big black dude who goes to my local bar saw Michigan was playing a few months, saw Jim Harbaugh on the sideline, and said "Jim Harbaugh!" like he was glad to see him. But then he goes "That son of a BITCH!" and for some reason, it made all the sense in the world and no sense at all.

Also, I love when skaters' favorite skaters are random like Smolik's. I remember Roberts asked Antwuan Dixon who his favorite was, and he responded that it was Gailea Momolu, like there was no other possible answer.

For the generation of skaters that Smolik is a part of, I would consider Matt Hensley to be a very not random choice for favorite skater, he was one of the most influential and well known street skaters of the late 80s early 90s. Gailea Momolu is great but he's a whole lot more obscure than Matt Hensley for sure

Op, you ok man? Being real here, you doin alright?

This is well worth watching for the Smolik section at the end.

How fast is the dude talking 😂

I don't like this format of youtube video, where it's 30 seconds of interview and then 30 seconds of park clips repeated over and over again for several minutes. I get that people's attention spans are short these days but I feel like appreciating people talking about skating and appreciating people's skating takes place in two entirely different parts of my brain, and switching back and forth between the two ad infinitum makes me lose interest. Divide all the skate clips and all the interview questions into two different sections of the video, or split them into two videos.

Op, you ok man? Being real here, you doin alright?

it would be cool to see some sort of interview segment where old teams got back together and just chopped it up for an hour or two

Nah there is nothing useful to hear from Peter Smolik. His fake gangster shit is like 20 years old by now and it gets more pathetic every year. He hasn't contributed anything to skateboarding since a few clips in the early 2000's.

His part in Danny Minnicks video "balance in the world of chaos" was top tier.

Skated with him a few times in SD in the early 2000's with that dude Victor Fonosch. He did backside 270 to tail slide on a propped up desk on top of this crusty schoolyard bank first try, was impressive.

Smolik is fried. He reminds me of all the ogs that fell into the dope loop and came out fucked. That's exactly how they all sound. But even listening to their stories is cool sometimes. It's history.

With that being said he's still one of my all time favorites. Not everybody can be Daewon.

The best thing that came from this thread is that it made me look up all his old parts again. He was so damn good.
As far as for him not being in “character”, is this the only footage of him that exists where he isn’t in character?

TSA Life in the Fast Lane was good.

very true. But what a horrible quality it was filmed on, even for the time it came out. At least the Euro version that I bought was so low quality it made it hard to watch. But wonderful skating.

Damn I'd never seen that TWS part before. Surprised at the amount of ditch and transition tricks in a Smolik part. Good stuff.
