Best turned based RPG games I should get??

paper mario is available via the switch online service. for me, it alone was worth the $50 price of admission. currently playing through the original FFVII (which was super cheap, like < $10) as I never played it when I was younger. looking forward to some more modern suggestions.

There are lots of great Square Enix games on the system. Final Fantasy 7-10, the Dragon Quest series, Saga Frontier, The Legend of Mana, Trials of Mana, Star Ocean First Departure R, Octopath Traveler, Bravely Default 2 and plenty more.

Here are some turn based RPGs I can recommend: Battle Chasers Nightwar, Cosmic Star Heroine, Undertale, Deltarune (first 2 chapters are free), Evoland, Shin Megami Tensei V, Bug Fables, Ara Fell, Atelier Ryza, Alder’s Blood, Cris Tales, and Jin Conception.

Action or non-traditional RPGs: Eastward, Ys Origin, Moon, Stardew Valley, Ni No Kuni, Bastion, Transistor, Shiren The Wanderer, Anodyne, Hakoniwa Explorer, Lucah: Born of a Dream and Sakuna: of Rice and Ruin.

Pretty good game. Knowing the backstory helps make some of the more fantasy elements of the story easier to swallow but it's easy to get into and lots of fun. I kinda wish it was more just slaughtering human Nazis and less cyborg steam punk fetish porn but it works.

Playing the Bioshock collection port atm as i needed a break from about 18 months of JRPGs. Runs really well on Switch.

I heard Sea of Stars is really good
New Pokemon expansion coming soon too so maybe will just wait to buy anything until I am done with those

I highly recommend Octopath Traveller 1+2 if you are a fan of Chrono Trigger / Final Fantasy 6&7 / SNES/PSX Era JRPGs

Triangle Strategy and Wargroove are amazing games if you were a fan of Advance Wars or FF Tactics

There's a bajilllion old school RPGS you can download for switch. Bravely Default 2 is also amazing. They are reissuing Star Ocean 2 with a physical release in Nov., which I am looking forward to.

Can't go wrong with SMTV, P5 Royal or Tokyo mirage sessions, if you like turn based JRPGs.

FF12 Zodiac Age is also great if you missed it the first go around, and FF X/X-2.
