I’m sure this has been covered before but would you guys say the shape difference between Spitfire Conical (not Full) and Radial (not Slim) is pretty minimal?

I’m having trouble finding either at my local but am looking to jump on a set as soon as I see one.

Dims for a 54mm are:

Conical
Width: 32.2
Riding: 20.2

Radial
Width: 34
Riding: 20

Apart from these minimal differences, i guess a radial is slightly heavier because of the conical cut on the Conicals and a rounder profile on the Radials

The radials have a rounded lip, the conicals are more squared. That's probably the biggest difference performance wise, but I bet it's so minimal not many people would be able to tell the difference in a double-blind testing scenario.

Been giving some 60mm Dragons a serious seeing to. Mostly sliding on hillbombs but I put them on to skate some really old crusty Oregon coast skateparks this last week and they worked great. Can't wait to see how the Spitfire 93s compare for rugged (exposed aggregate) giant crusty bowls...

Oh and I chunked and sliced the shit out of all of them. No impact on 'performance' but my goal is to destroy them.

I’m really pining for some black wheels, but I’d be foolish to buy anymore seeing as I already have plenty.

Seen mfs dyeing their wheels with RIT synthetic and their fixative.
Look :) like my best bet, but I can’t seem to find a source for them in Europe.

Anyone got intel?

Yes, I know. I love Navs. Great style. Love his instagram posts, doing old some old school street stuff :)

But does anyone have a source for RIT Synthetic in Europe or know of a similar product that does the same thing?

I'm in New Zealand and I use "Dyemore" IDye poly. Works really well. Go easy on the dye - it's strong stuff.

Anyone tried the new pig wheels that just came out supposed to be same formula as formula 4
Supposed to be softer as well

I’m on spits 93a and it’s a knee saver
But the pig combo shape looks sick

The 93a Dragons aren’t Bones, they’re Powell.

Only bones x97\97a dragon formula really has crossover.

Anyone have 97a Nanocubics?
Are they coning? How much do they widen a truck, say compared to a Bones V6 shape?

they're decent, of course you're gonna feel a difference if you're used to the top formulas, but these and mini-logos are probably the best cheaper wheels. last a whole lot longer than normal spitfires. if you skated shit like pig wheels or some cheap ojs then they will be an upgrade. my first ever good wheels were 100s in the party pack variant (every wheel was a different neon color) and then i got some grosso spitfires that i flatspotted in a spectacular way, all the homies at the park called me ursus (it's a tractor manufacturer) because it was so loud. as a 14 year old i dm'd bones like a man with a photo of the flatspotted spitfires and the worn down bones 100s and said something like "fuck spitfire bones are the best wheels" and they never replied so i got some f4s and my life changed. i got given another set later on and they were still good, but my heart was already spitfire's so i switched back as soon as i could.

Skated the original 52mm 97a nano cubes down to 48mm and there wasn't significant coning. In my opinion, they wore down fairly evenly. Also, since the bearings are asymmetrically set, it feels like you get about +.25" room on your truck.

I've been riding the spit 93a radials and, even though they feel great, they wore down about 1mm per week so I'm looking at some other options that might last me a little longer.

Just bought the (v4?) 97a 53mm nano rats so I'm sorta back in the nano cubic camp. I'll probably try the new 97 spits on a few months when they're more available

the 56x39mm wide 93a nano rats are amazing. The shape is essentially a lock in full. The chonky spitfire style wall of urethane on each side of the bearing seat provides structural support for the 26mm riding surface, making them feel harder/sturdier/less squishy than other dragons, and the slide feels more like a soft slider vs. the skittery slide of the v6,v4, nano cubic or rat bones in 93a. Also the bearings are definitely not center set as powell claims, but they are close enough to center that they don't cone out, unlike rat bones or nano cubics.

edit: you gotta be careful to know which shape you are getting when buying nano rats. Powell released like 4 different shapes at once, all under the name "nano rats".

I'm sure you know this, but X-formula and Dragons are the same formula, just different duro, both made by skateone.

Yeah, I skated the 97a Nanocubics for a while. I had no issues with coning, but didn't skate them that long. They put the contact patch out a bit wider, and obviously the hanger has more grind area. I really enjoyed that, as someone who wants to go wide, but can't due to tech skating. It's a nice compromise though. I'll go back them this winter.

They are a different wheel for sure.

Funny thing is the Mini Logo wheels seem to be a better alternative to the 100s, different properties and all, but I would say Bones / Powell normal formulas first, then Mini Logo wheels, then Bones 100s in that order.

At least that is my own experience and seeing various wheels from people.

I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.
