Do Ventures need aftermarket bushings? If so, which ones are good?
The ones they come with are good.
Most trucks including all Ventures come with 90 duro stock bushings, or roughly soft to medium bushings, but almost too many people don't wear in / break in bushings correctly so they will often feel way too soft and mushy at first or people tighten them right down and blow them out fairly quickly.
If you are a lighter weight body, or you like trucks on the more loose side, then they will work great for you, but if you are usually on tighter trucks and don't want to wait a few sessions to wear in bushings, then maybe putting in harder bushings can work better. Note even with new harder bushings, you will still need to break them in gently at first, then can skate as usual once they firm up and things feel more normal.
The question I would ask back is what are you currently on, what bushings in those trucks and where does the kingpin nut sit, eg flush with the top, down so you can see a thread or more, half off, etc?
Coming from most main brands, anything with nicely worn in bushings might feel more comfortable than any new trucks you might get, but just going easy on them in the first few sessions, means the bushings break in well and they will firm up and skate well.
Of course everyone is different, so although they might work well for some, they might not work well for others.
Hope that helps.
