I think I am going to have to allocate extra time to delve into this one.

Might be there for a while...

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Damn this is very sick. Thanks for sharing. I was thinking awhile ago that it would be sick to set up a permanent place/site with proper organization where people could upload stuff like this and it was easy to scroll through by year, by brand, etc. I have some really old DC, I-Path, and eS catalogs, and I'm sure eventually someone could compile most of the catalogs brands have put out in some form or another. Good idea, I'm not gonna be the one to do it, but it's a good idea.
would love this, like a skate.ly 2.0 for gear. it could be subscription based, i would pay a monthly fee for it, i’m sure there are enough nerds from “shoes & gear” who could keep it afloat.

I think that's a sick combo but I could see not being into it.

Yeah I could see someone rocking it nowadays and think it looked alright, but you know how it is when you're young and insecure and trying to fit in. I felt like it was the goofiest look ever and felt super self conscious when I wore it. But also back then you only have so many pairs of shoes and pants so it was inevitable.

CCS just posted the 1987 California Cheap Skates / California Surf Style catalog to their blog:

Some classic graphics in this one.

It's odd in the 1991 1993 catalogues that there's barley a single World distributed item.

thanks for sharing. i loved these and the TWS buyer's guides so much, used to kill a lot of time reading them in class. i grew up in a town where the shops were backed by certain distributors and only really cared the brands from said distributors. I only ever really saw shorty's/toy machine/zero when my family would go on trips across the border, and we also didn't have internet until around 2002 at our house so the buyer's guides/catalogs were legendary for me.

those back to school trips to the states were actually so dope. zumiez used to have some crazy deals like 3 tees for $35 or a pro setup for $59.99. the prices were astronomically lower than the prices I was paying for shit in canada.

Sweet! Thanks for the link.  I was able to find my first “real” skateboard complete from the Back to School 2000 catalog
