If you like Jason Ellis you will like this. I like his personality.

Ten minutes in: He was kicked off a team for being bi-sexual and Tas Pappas insulted him for being gay. 90s vert culture was pretty fucked up.

If you listen to any of Ellis’ other podcasts or his and Riley’s dads podcast it’s basically the same stories.  Still funny him being on there.  I know a lot of people can’t stand him, he’s entertaining enough for me.  Plus always figured it was Tas giving him shit for being bi at contests, part of the reason he quit.  Glad he finally said it was him and also it’s all squashed now.

90s culture in general was pretty fucked up. From what I remember most people i skated with let the f word fly all the time when just talking shit during street skating sessions

I bet crob hasnt watched any of ellis’s podcasts

Very curious about this one. I like the dude's vibe and I feel like this is the guest that the nine club needed right now.
He doesn't filter stuff, he just says it like it is ... pretty sure Crob will have a few panicattacks while J Dubs will be in stitches.

very rare to meetings skaters in the 89's/90's whose parents were still together/were raised by a scrambling single mom, including myself. kids lashing out left and right (not a direct correlation but close). just a very accepting subculture for being a terrorizer. probably some freakanomics data that demo's the conditions that churned that attitude overall. they all but proved that row vs wade brought down the 70's & 80's crime waves. it's gnarly.

those who grew up in the 70-90s were latchkey kids.  It wasn't until I graduated high school and became radicalized by bay area EBHC music did I realize how dumb slurs were

Half wat through and this guy is something else. Awesome episode.

Hilarious and sad at times as well. No surprise Tas Pappas was a major dick. And I felt bad for Ellis.

But what surprised me most was that Danny Way and Colin (of all people) got him on DC well knowing he was bi.

It surprised me in a good way ...

40 mins in so far and this is actually hilarious. Ken Block meeting, Shaun White MCing and Tony Hawks Taint Stick have had me laughing hard. And more. It moves pretty fast...Will finish the rest later.

Ellis is definitely laughing in the face of adversity at points, but that's okay as it feels like this is his way of being honest and dealing with it.

Best Nine Club. Really exposed the bulk of the rest as corporate pabulum.

Crob “Any more stories?!” was hilarious: a host unhinged by a guest offering something more than boilerplate. Jeron coaching him through it was sick.

Cynic in me thinks Hawk is or maybe was happy to have Ellis as possible rainbow shield for whenever a media outlet finally grabs on to the Tim Von Werne story.

I remember this guy from the Tony Hawk's Gigantic Skatepark Tour DVDs. Definitely a memorable personality, huge airs. Fun fact he is the 2nd person ever to skate the mega ramp and he did it in a basketball jersey.

His appearance on Stern when George Takai touched him was so funny. I had no idea he was that big on Sirius. I was a die hard Stern fan but because of Sirius, I stopped. Jason is better off on the podcast platform due to it being free for users but the market is so saturated that who knows if you can make a steady paycheck off of it. Stern is on a dying platform but his fanbase will be there till he stops his show.
