Anyone have any idea what’s going on with the wood shop that did all the dwindle boards? And if they’re going to make new boards?
Dwindle Distribution was the owner of a number of brands, all of which fell on its face when things went south after being sold.
DSM is the woodshop and totally separate and its own entity so although it has often been confused with one and the same, or pretty much two intertwined businesses, they have been kept completely separate for a number of reasons, least of all, that it can function independently of any distributor or company.
DSM is still owned by Globe / Hardcore, who also owned Dwindle before selling it off a while back, which is also where some confusion comes from.
As far as I know, DSM has still been full steam ahead and has been making boards as per normal, if not specific boards for Dwindle, at least a significant number of other brands who all use this woodshop for all their skateboard needs. I have tried to keep things updated as much as I can, including changing the "Dwindle woodshop" over to "DSM woodshop" on the first page.
I think Bravo Sports now owns Dwindle, or what is left of it, so I really don't know if there will be any more of anything, generic product or whatever from any Dwindle brand, besides what is being farmed out to Walmart and similar places. Globe is still distributing some of the heritage brand product, reissues and the like, from what I have heard too, but again I don't know what exactly or any other info there. There may still be a huge backlog of product that is still to be cleared out as well, from the distributors that were left sitting on stock when Dwindle went south, but again, I don't know anything else about that either.
Anyone else knows anything to add, please feel free too - this woodshop forum relies heavily on everyone else to help with info too, so never be afraid to ask a question, give some info or feedback, etc.
Thanks!
