Anyone know which Disorder decks are PS Stix? Or all China now?

Edit: Actually on their website it seems to say PS on all of the ones they sell.
[close]

I really don't know, but any pics I have seen had the PS Stix top - sticker placement and laser engraving.

Are they even sold anywhere but the Disorder online store?

Same with this one on ebay:

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/265273043627
Skate Deluxe sells them in EU. Pics show the same sticker and engraving. Cheers!

Wanted to add some updates here; Thanks Woodshop for maintaining this list!

FSC, Redf, Collage, and Whitaker are on Control wood.

Also, HLC has opened a factory in Texas.  I'm not sure who their customer base is, but wanted to throw that out there since they've typically been EU only.

Yeah, for sure!

Back pre 2020, I had a delivery to my work / shop, as well as seeing boards in other shops - FSC, T4, Vow and Mystery all on boards that skated well and were liked.  That was pre Surplus Dist and whatever happened there for Steve, then haven't seen many / any since, but with everything it is down to distribution and coverage - some places want a lot, other places just seem not to take anything apart from the big international brands.

That is just the local market here though.  I don't really travel at all any more so don't make it to a lot of other shops all over Australia, but I do recall some shops in some places had a lot more boards than others too.

I can't believe how shitty Toy machine wood is. Shape and dims are ok but wood quality is horrible, after 2 weeks if feels even worse. Switched to a Santa Cruz and it feels amazing and also Santa Cruz is not top tier shit.

Looking for more boards with stubby nose and tail. 8.5 and 14.25 wheelbase. I can find that size but they seem more pointy or tapered. Thanks!

Was it a PS board or one of the Chinese-made boards? I had a PS last year that felt great.

I want to support Toy, but too difficult to determine what you'll get ordering online. (No skateshops where I live.)

I had a USA made toy earlier this year. Screen printed (single color) graphic.

Really great board, but also the only one I snapped this year.

Don't. I got Chinese ones, they were decently priced, and even tho the dims are the ones I like and the shape is ok the wood quality is terrible.
After 2 weeks it feels horrible. Even after one week you feel a difference.

A little unfortunate that was the case - no idea what woodshop from China they come from, but I am guessing they are the same as what we had here, which people had tried and now seemingly sworn off Toy Machine for life, because of one poor quality deck.

There are supposed to be the PS Stix one around, pro models, more so than team editions, but it really comes down to location I think.  USA might get a better deal, but EU and AU along with some other places seem to get those boards, which I could not even give away.

I guess their market for those is more so kids or beginners who just don't know, but even then, I wouldn't really want to set up a board for anyone knowing what that wood is like, at least not unless it was heavily marked down or free.

In going through the list and comparing boards from different woodshops, all of China origins, there are some huge differences in products.

The DSM / Resin 7 and similar boards are all so solid feeling, as are the DLX China made boards, all of which hold up really well and people love them.

The Element, Birdhouse and a few other board brands, DGK too, from China are also good and people like the feel of them, crisp, light, decent and hold up well enough for what they are, for the price.

Then there are some others, which just look and feel cheaper, so I don't really doubt it when some people say they just can't trust boards - any boards, from any brands - from certain countries, even though I know that broad statement is not true.

It just is sad when some boards are at roughly "pro board prices" but they are just the brand name on whatever wood someone can get for as cheap as they possibly can get it, hence why a lot of people now think what little they do of some brands, as per the conversation above.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

I've gone through at least 5 Toy Machine boards in the last year and all have been Made in Mexico, PS Stix - But I'm in the US and ordering directly from their distributor site so that probably helps.

Edit: I was wrong, see below.

Ok well immediate correction to this. I go through a lot of Yeto boards and just got another in the mail, and this one definitely isn't PS Stix even though it does say Made in Mexico. This has also reminded me that at least a couple of the other Toy boards I've had this year looked the same.

I'm guessing this may be from Clutch distribution then? Does that seem right?

Yes, a letter / number stamp is classic Clutch, the letter is the shape and the number is the size, in this case O6 is the square nose and tail in 8.125.

Good looking board too.  Crazy long kicks, or a good size?

Thanks for confirming - That is interesting then, I'll pay more attention to the decks I get in the future, I know I had at least one PS Stix stamped Toy board earlier in the year but at least a few had this Clutch stamp and I just wasn't paying attention. I do at least know they were all from Mexico.

Yeah I'm looking forward to trying the shape - I wanted something longer, specifically like you mentioned with the long kicks. Should be able to get a bit more mileage out of my current deck before setting this up which is why it's still wrapped.

Chinese factory tour Bubble Skatzz.

They have some heart supply stuff in the intro. Some alien boards on the rack in the back at 9:58. They have some zoo York stuff on instagram.

Not much new in the construction method. As Schmidt said, most skateboards are materially same, it just come down to quality and care in the construction process.

I think this may be hot press. She mentions steam in the press, and says they’re “not to warm” which to me seems like beating around the bush.

AWS / Habitat has used a mix of BBS and China for decks for a while, didn't think it was Bubble and assumed it was DSM since they used them for earlier runs on Suciu's twin, I think it has the green DSM sticker and even stated epoxy but that was over a year ago.

Bubbles messed up the dims on some boards I received - website had the 8.38 listed at 32 x 14.38 but it was  31.75 x 14.25 which was a bummer.

My past 5 decks have been AWS and the most recent 3 have all been made in China. I’ve just begun skating the first China made one, and it feels fine but I’ve noticed it getting chipped rather easily. I really hope Sect isn’t of BBS because I’d happily pay the higher price to skate their shapes on BBS decks

All the AWS/Habitat pro models are BBS. The team graphics are a mix of BBS and China, depends on the drop. If you look at the pics of the boards on the Tactics website they usually use their own pics and you can see the stickers to determine where it came from. Then just go buy it wherever you'd like. I've skated nothing but the Psych 8.25 shape for like 2 years now, it's my favorite shape out.

One of the made in China boards I’m sitting on right now is this Joey Guevara deck, so I don’t think we can rely on pro models being pressed by BBS anymore. I’d send a pic but my phone’s camera is on the fritz.

Well Fuck lol. The only other pro model I've ever seen from them that was China made was the Habitat Dela cream full dipped board. Wonder if maybe they just had some production issues with BBS around that time?

My Fred Gall Black Widow 8.25 is made in China as well. It also doesn‘t habe the same dimensions as the Metal 8.25 although Alien Workshop said so on Insta. The tail is much longer and he wheelbase is 14.25 instead of 14.13“. It also feels heavier than the Metal Fred Gall. I‘m in Europe though fwiw.

I think most Birdhouse boards are BBS. There is a top shot in this photo carousel, but I don't recognize that as a BBS sticker.

The last lot were still BBS for those same shapes, just different graphics.

I would imagine that they would still be BBS, but I really don't know.

I have seen a different / bright red sticker on other BBS boards too, but I can't get a close up of it to really see so it is possible they have gone with other wood for this one too.

* That web site hurts my eyes too - glad I don't have to look at that too often.

Here is another one, maybe similar quality pic, but I still can't get a good zoom in enough to see.

I know it is not a lot to go on, but the price can also help to determine whether or not it is BBS (usually more expensive) or China (usually cheaper) overall.

Seeing another listing or two with cheaper boards with that same sticker, maybe it is different as per EU and AU, compared to USA like some other products.

Cheaper board with the same sticker on it.

I haven't seen any in person to know either, sorry.

Tactics listing here with a pretty good pic, but I don't have time to investigate more right now.

Tactics website has a great zoom. Good find. Red warning sticker does not say Made in...anywhere. And since the sticker is centered in between the truck holes, I can't tell if there is the trademark BBS dimple.

Some good pics on this site with the wrapper still on, but I can make out any writing that says Made in...

The more I look the more I think those boards are now China made as well.

We had the side by side BBS and China made boards for a few runs here, got some of each to compare and although they are totally different concaves, they both skated fine, but I personally prefer the spoon concave of BBS, over anything else.

Guessing everything went up in price somewhere down the wholesale chain, so for a number of brands, this means that boards, especially bigger or wider boards, also went up a fair bit more than regular sized boards, so with these still being at lower prices overall, I would think that they are cheaper wholesale, which is usually more so China wood.

Is there anything wrong with China wood as it is?   No.

Is it going to matter to someone who doesn't care about specific concaves?   No.

That is about the most I think I can give anyone at this point.
