Canon Lens help ? (newbie)
« on: May 04, 2022, 05:21:42 PM »
Friend of mine kicked me down an old Canon EOS Rebel T3.. probably not the best camera but for free I thought id give it a try. I am curious if anyone has any lens recommendations for photos with this camera. I am rather new to shooting skate photos but trying to get off on the right foot. any info would be super helpful. thanks !

You can use any modern canon EF mount lens on it. What lens depends what kind of photography you want to do. A 50mm lens can be a good standard lens or a cheap second hand canon zoom lens might be more versatile. There's loads of canon stuff about so maybe check ebay or ask friends for something to borrow
Jorts
Anklets
Rat tails
Sling shots
Toe rings

Jump ramps

I got hooked up with 28mm-80mm Standard lens, and what appears to be a 70mm-210mm zoom, or macro lens. stoked to get out and using them. thanks for giving some input!

28-80mm will be a good starting point as a multi purpose lens.

If you're doing skate photography you may eventually want something a bit wider like a 15mm approx.

Have fun!
