Just heard and seriously bummed…instantly recognizable voice. Followed him long after Screaming Trees.

Screaming Trees - I'm partial to Buzz Factory because that's where I started, but Uncle Anesthesia may be the best starting point. It's a little more straightforward and rules from start to finish. Sweet Oblivion is the most mainstream and has the radio hits (still good).

I really like his solo stuff (especially The Winding Sheet), but I have to be more in the mood for those albums. It's not exactly cheery music.

The stuff with Isobel Campbell probably falls somewhere in the middle. You may already be familiar with the QOTSA stuff.

Dude. Fuck. I don't keep super up to date on music news so I literally just found out from this thread. Songs for the Deaf is one of the most impactful albums of my life, when that came out I loved it and then worked back to self titled/rated r then into the desert sessions and kyuss and then that lead to unida and Vista chino etc.

Wasn't as into the trees and solo stuff but still a big fan of some of it. For sure one of the best pure rock voices I've ever heard. I have to post this legendary performance of the QOTSA all star team, even if most fans have seen it a thousand times. That "...if you're hanging around, I'm holding the noose" is forever burned into my brain. Much love Mark.
