Lincoln Ueda Blasting Huge Airs
« on: February 28, 2022, 03:31:46 PM »
This video showed up on youtube and I was so stoked to see Lincoln Ueda still blasting airs. Guy always had such good, easy style and was always going higher than nearly everyone. Guy just floats...

In my opinion there is nothing more beautiful than hearing the tail snap on a good bodyjar / madonna / lien to tail.

Ueda was alway underrated- Air and style wise he
was back in the days on top level on par with Hosoi and Danny Way…. But never received that attribution.

His skating is still top notch - and if he didn’t skate
himself because of a blown knee - he is filming his son Raphael - who I following his fathers steps…
He is one of the best talents in park / transition skateboarding/ toy machine nobody cares about.

I thought he was one of the most noteworthy vert dudes for this reason. While watching a 411, you see Lincoln Ueda’s name for a split second and you’re like “oh shit here it is”.

I’ve never dropped in on vert because I’m a massive wimp but Lincoln Ueda is one of my all time favourites

I always remembered him for his huge airs. Its crazy there isn't more footage of him skating online even though he was in so many competitions back in the day.

Shaun White also had some massive airs, especially for skateboarding being his second sport. Can anyone think of anyone else that comes close to those two in standard half pipes?

Skateboarding is the ultimate challenge.

There was this one guy jocke Olson I think he was Swedish. He toured Aus with billabong in the early 00s. I think he may of even been a high air record holder at some point.

I got to watch him skate Upland and he did one of his indy heelflips about head high. The techest I've seen anyone on vert not at a contest in person. I was hoping to dig up the footage from my tapes before posting about it but no luck.

The longer you look at this lien, the more unreal it becomes. One of the best vert photos ever.

I just rewatched this the other day after someone brought up Kenny reeds part and uedas part is still the biggest amplitude vert I’ve ever seen.  So incredible, and the one footed grind as well.

He floats those so well that I thought the footage was slightly slo'mo'd - looks like such fun

As a snowboarder I never got the hype around flippery trickery on vert like Colin McKay. Never understood why Ueda wasn't the biggest guy in the game. Perfect style and execution.

That last backside air and the final kickflip thing were  purely fucked.
Love Lincoln, should be more prominent for how good he was / is and for so long.

I feel the same, nothing better than a proper tweaked air. Him, His kid and Jimmy Wilkins is the proof that style and a cool personality changes everything
:p
