Frontside Varial Flips look better than Hardflips

I have to say that a scooped out hard flip just can’t compare to a solid frontside varial flip.

Apples to apples. Trick is trash. I cancelled them decades ago. Never landed one. Best life choice I ever made.

How many examples of that trick really are there? Only one I can think of is Herman in This Is Skateboarding and even that borders the line of a hardflip.

Is frontside varial even a thing? I highly doubt it. What you're looking for is an inward kickflip. But nothing will ever compare to a decent illusion flip

Deawon's at 3:54 is clearly done the varial flip way. They say it is the first hardflip on video.

if a varial heel can be frontside why not a varial flip? You don’t actually call a varial flip a inward kick flip do ya? The difference is flipping after popping not all the same motion. But not late flipping.I know suttle but pop shove then flip halfway finish spinning catch land. Could it be true???

That’s just a poorly done hard flip. Frontside varial flip does not exist.

You can't do a proper hardflip these days if you spin it like a "frontside varial flip", if you pop high doing this it just sticks to your foot and fucks everything up. I don't like the overly vertical ones either, to me it has to spin diagonal and fast-ish to look cool.

2:25 good example of that, probably my favorite hardflip ever.

There are inward kickflips and heelflips just as there are varial kickflips and heelflips. The 180 rotation of the board is opposed for kickflip and heelflip because the "inward" refers to shoving the board to where your foot is also flicking off the board. Just google varial (kick)flip, varial heel, inward heel and inward kf. There are very detailed trickiest for each where you can see for yourself.

Inward KF = hardflip, the illusion flip method just cane wildly into fashion in the late 90s to where they were just very angled pop shove it's. by the mid 00s it was Sean malto et et who established the flatter and more technical method that Darwon pioneered. Heitor da Silva is bringing the vertical muskaflips back in an ironic steezy way.

Nollie hardflips get a pass for being vertical, fakie a bit less though and switch is good because if you're landing them is already more than most.

When I started skating we didn't even consider the Muska hardflip and the frontside varial flip the same trick. We even called Muska frontside flips 180 hardflips. Personally I prefer the Muska style because it looks cleaner. I hate the knock knees half shifty let's twist again dance frontshove flip. Herman gets the credit for bringing back the hardflip legit but PJ over the bar 0:46 is the first legit medium hardflip I remember seeing that I liked. ( He does one down stairs earlier in the part but it doesn't look the same)
