To be fair, Ryan being vegan and using the "which kind of 440 am I" ploy is more so for him to find a type of shoe he likes. From there, he can use his marketing power/sensibilities to push the brand to make vegan versions of X shoe: 440 and then anything else he is feeling.

 Gotta think endgame with this. Ideally, skate vegan models first and foremost, but that's not always the way you have to go about it to get more vegan ones made, sadly. Then again, I'm not vegan, so what do I know!?

He’s been pretty clear that he can only really skate in mids or highs. It’s not fair to chastise him because skate brands do use vegan/sustainable materials in the shoes they’re sending him for free.
