Where do you aim your fisheye when filming lines?

Hey pals,

Wondering when filming fisheye, where do yall point at?

I've been filming with a vx1000/mk1 and have been aiming for the knees when filming lines, obviously pointed up.

I tried to go lower, and aim for the shoes, but I find it distorts the view and flow of the line a little too much.

A buddy once taught me that if they swerve real close to you , you have to point down a fraction to keep the board in. Can’t always be pointing up , I prefer the occasional head chop to missing board or wheels . Takes time to get familiar with your fisheye

I agree with this, but where is your camera placed relative to the skater?
closer to the knee or the shoe? that makes a huge difference if they swerve into you.

It really is just a matter of putting in the hours.

I'm sure the best filmers can see what the angle or shot will look like before even putting a viewfinder to their eye. 

I know it took me a while to get it to where the camera was like an extension of my arm and my vision, and placing myself and the camera in relation to what I was trying to capture was intuitive.
