This horrible decision reminded me of what it felt like when there was a new horrid piece of domestic news each day of Trump's presidency. And, really, this shit is just an extension of that nightmare.

Hopefully, this energizes team blue to vote in the mid-terms.

Agreed, and I also hope this energizes people to get out and involved in their local communities.

Change has to come forth at the micro and macro levels.

A lot of time/coverage, attention, and energy is focused on the national level political drama and getting us to focus on said drama (some would say it's part of the "grand design") that we often get distracted from what's happening right under our noses.

Though that's tough when those who comprise the bulk of the electorate are struggling to make ends meet.

I hate the cops as much as any other normal rational person but the local police are not the same thing as the US Supreme Court. Not even close.

I know it’s not I just had that sitting on my phone. I figured with all the jawjacking about getting out and voting I would post it.

This is all pretty fucked, girls today will have less rights than their grandmothers.

Even though I agree with the sentiment, the social media backlash is a little corny. One, it’s clearly an echo-chamber and not resulting in more leftist votes. Two, a lot of misinformation about the lack of male birth control options is being spread. Three, white women not admitting that some of them got duped by Trump era racial rhetoric, and didn’t realize there’s more to the government than deporting Mexicans and shutting blacks up.

The white Trump voting women I have the misfortune of knowing are pro life conservatives. They’re celebrating this as a victory.

That's the thing I understand least. Why do these women want LESS rights?

If you don't agree with abortions, don't have them. But why celebrate more laws against the freedoms of women which will certainly lead to more laws suppressing women even more. It's just the beginning. These people are nuts.

Religion. They view it as murder. They also get off on judging others harshly. This can only end with the state investigating miscarriages, which are much more frequent than most men would assume.

I'd assume also the huge majority of these women got lucky and never needed an abortion. I feel like it's the same mindset of fuck people with drug problems, I was responsible and didn't do drugs. Fuck the homeless I always worked hard and did the right thing they should have too.

What I've seen is a bunch of posts telling 18 year old dudes to go out and get a vasectomy, because they can get it easily reversed whenever they want to have kids. What they don't care to include with their suggestion is that reversing a vasectomy is not guaranteed and the chances of successfully reversing one gets worse and worse with each passing year. I know everyone is upset, but this is not good information to just be blindly sharing.
I was standing staring at the world, and I still can't see it

If you can, support local abortion networks and abortion funds (Planned Parenthood is well funded and is doing OK right now).  Take time to be a clinic escort if you can, donate money or other resources needed if you can.

Abortions aren't going to stop even if they become illegal.

I've never had to support someone through an abortion or a miscarriage (which informs my belief that my sperm is toast) , being informed by conversation and years of strong relationships/friendships with many women, I'd wager that more than 50% have suffered an abortion or miscarriage.

Any fucks on the anti-abortion train (let's stop calling it pro-life) have never worked with unwanted or undersupported children. Nobody asks to be born into a fucked up world. Fuckin hell.

It’s definitely applicable to you; regardless of where you live. There’s an armed wing of the state whose primary purpose to defend corporate property and vested class interests.

Also, it is dismissive, condescending, and ignorant to assume that the folks you are talking to ( @DaleSr @Landmine and @IusedToSkateMore and myself) are Wikipedia revolutionaries without an in-depth understanding of class dynamics or first hand experience in dealing with the machinations of the state. Not to mention flat out wrong.

Edit: also damn, it's almost like the corps seems like a life line to a lot of people who grow up in fucked up situations with little future to hope for and that people can change their minds on the direct results of US imperialism after witnessing it first hand

"blue lives matter" is not a thing in Scandinavia, so it's not a card. Shitty cookie cutter Twitter takes are not doing much to contribute either.
