Remaking the infamous AWS longboard (I always thought it would look longer/funnier)

I wish they made it with a short wheelbase also. The shape looks so nice. Plus love the graphic, but not gonna ride 15” wb on ventures or 68mm wheels lol

I really enjoy skateboarding on my Metal deck. That 8.5 is fun. Im used to the standard 8.25 Alien/Habitat deck, so when I got this 8.5 it was easy to get used to.

I'm riding the Freddy Toxic Avenger 9in. egg and I'm loving it so far.  Might have to try that Silas deck. If anyone at Metal is reading this (and we know that you are), reissue that BA graphic on a wide egg and I'm fucking down  8)

I'm so about it. I can put imp and tre away to work on nicer kick flippers. Iong wb = less shifty at higher speed.
Manny will suffer.

I remember wanting to buy the Raybourn El Muerto 8.75” or the Fred Gall Toxic Avenger 9” and both were sold out really fast. Metal decks sellout fast here in Japan, at least the ones I want. Finally I bought a black label 9” egg shape.

This is crazy. I always thought Metal was just a random local Jersey brand, like the type of shit you see advertised in the very back of Thrasher. I’ve always liked their videos tho and obviously the team is rad, so I’m glad that people are feeling it beyond the tri-state area. Keep Jersey punching above its weight 😤

Best part is they release a new clip with every drop.  Watching Fred and Ben is a treat.

Good choice. I love the label.

I'm glad Metal is doing good too. Maybe they should bust out some hardware. Custom shit. Etched pentagrams on top surrounding the allen key hole.

Black with red tops. Or drop some limited edition bridge bolts with the logo on them.

I hated bridge bolts but I'd cop

Metal’s the only East Coast brand that gets a lot of love here.

Not with the ferocity of metal, but theres a heavy DOA (rip) and scum co following on slap…

Interesting. Nobody really talked about Metal back in the day. Not even when they released a full length.

Hopps should have a wayy bigger following on here than Scumco.

I’d take a Hardtimes comeback.

It's mainly due to the love of Freddy and Ben on here more than the brand I think.

I mean the same can kinda be said about grimple. But grimple is tight and so is metal.

Cross post from the long wheelbase thread:

Having grown up skating South Jersey/Philly (albeit very poorly) in the 90s, I’m very stoked to try this setup. I normally ride 8.75/9” boards (still pretty poorly) so this should be interesting.

Also, I've ridding a few Metal 8.5s and I know several people who consistently ride Metal boards from each drop. I see it as a niche, but not at all unsustainable or just a wall hanger company.

Taking it out for a night skate at some curbs tomorrow since it’s raining today. I’ll report back, but I’m mostly skating curbs, low ledges and small transition, so hopefully someone a lot better than me can pick one up and give it a proper review.

M skating this board now. I usually ride a 8 and have ventures but I got used to this pretty fast. Felt kinda big obviously. Hard to spin around but flips and does manuals just fine. I like it. Going to stick to 8.25’s f from now on. The other metal shapes are too square for me though…
