I guess.   I just think the Reynolds/Kader narrative has always been a weird Slap thing as well as the intense Reynolds “can do no wrong” vibes.   Just look at every screaming at Vans here for being mean to him before his reasons for NB came out.  Dude is a great skater, successfully rode zeitgeist hype into an sustained presence in the industry, but I do think we can take it down a notch, but I’m apparently in the minority.

I mean Vans does some dumb shit, it's pretty normal to scream at them. They're a corporation and they can take it and I don't really see why they need defending. They've dropped the ball with a lot of really good riders and done some absolutely goofy shit in regards to their shoes.

I'm not saying 'Reynolds can do no wrong' but I'm saying 'I think he generally does it the right way in comparison to the industry and his peers'

for sure, but there is this weird thought process you see a lot here (unless it’s Kader) that the only reason a skater leaves a sponsor is if the sponsor is fucking them over, that the skater has no agency in the matter.   I don’t think vans needs defending, but also, call them out when they actually do something, not inventing some nefarious scenario where they twirled their moustache knowing Reynolds would never get a vans pro mode
