I definitely feel like this was in response to the oblow thing so they could say look we just let people talk and be edgy for views thing. Especially given this was filmed last week. It wasn’t a bad podcast but it was a bad skate podcast. But it was honestly more entertaining than anything any of these people have ever done in their entire career. Which is ducking hilarious.

I definatly agree with not a bad podcast but a bad skate podcast. But it's definatly what they needed to do. I don't think it could work on a regular basis tho have to keep to one famous person every six months or more."remember this thing?" " Oh yeah and what about that thing" "Omg Reynolds exists" type convo probably would get old for regular viewers.
Also don't know if it has anything to do with oblow. They probably booked him months ago he did the typical comedian thing and filmed a half dozen podcasts in a weekend

"skateboarding's just more pure"

"not that I'm against diversity or anything"

"you just gotta wonder, is he up there because he's good or because he's in a wheelchair or trans?"

"you watch the Oscars now, and you wonder, is this the best movie.... or is it just pro-whatever?"

"i was scared to say it, as the honky"

"you're just judging me based on a zinger, you don't even know me"

Cant help but feel like hes doing all of this for purely self promotional reasons.  He mixed up Zero and Baker, it honestly doesnt seem like he’s paying much attention to skating

I mean... aren't all Nine Club guests trying to promote themselves/tell their stories?

I'm sure the Nine Club was stoked to have a big name like Mark Normand on, while this is just another podcast in a sea of podcasts for the guy. Compared to going on Joe Rogan regularly, the amount of self-promotion he can squeeze out of the Nine Club is miniscule.

This and the Jenkem piece really got me thinking that skaters need to stop having googly eyes everytime a person of note in another field has a relation with skating.

Kelly is a big comedy fan and he’s been talking about wanting to get this guy on since he found out he skated like a year ago.  Seems like Mark does every podcast he can, don’t think it’s any deeper than that.

Props to Mark for shouting out our hometown hero Warren (rip) and OG Humidity

I abandoned the Nine Club a long time ago, but I have to watch this one.  Can't believe they got Kevin Hart!

Kelly was on a Jim Jefferies podcast recently and it was pretty terrible.

That's a tuf podcast to do and seem interesting. talking about skateboarding in any kind of detail to non skateboarders rarely works. I'll give them props for branching out and trying mainstream podcasts tho

Why wasn’t there a thread for the Swift episode? That was in their top 10
Swift’s episode was definitely one of the best in a long time.

I can’t wait to get to this one. If you’re offended that a comedian said some dicey shit on a podcast (especially if you’re unfamiliar with mark normand’s work and comedy toward woke culture) then I have nothing to say to you other than “you fuckin baby.”
