@GardenSkater77 Thanks for posting this video it's got a lot of sick rare clips - and the YouTube page it's from is really cool too.

I'm surprised no one posted the video that gave this era the name we use now

Does anybody know the name of the skater in the intro that tries the kf back lip on the SF rail in the opening slam credits?

This thread sent me on a hunt and I actually just found a pair of Ghetto Wear shorts in my closet. I don’t know how I kept them on my body. I was skinny as shit then too…
I’m 6’1” around 190 now and they are still huge. Couldn’t resist trying them.

Also-
For some reason this got heavy play at our shop…

Off the top…

Fall 1991 to Spring 1993

I’m just going by the grade I was in and when clothing, videos and product changed.

Edit: After a little more sleuthing I think the period was even shorter, but by Spring 1992 shorts were hitting mid calf.

Peak SPBW product was Fall 1992. Just look at the CCS catalog from that period. I wanted everything but settled for an I ❤️ Cops T-shirt.

Spot on bro. That catalogue is pure nostalgia. My Slap handle is even a homage to the Milk Easy Slider everslick. I had the I *heart* Cops baseball cap tho.
why come?

I just realized I typed SPBW (Small Pants Big Wheels). I’m not even sure what that means…

Just Remembered, when I placed the order over the phone I spoke with a woman who told me proudly that her son was on the cover. The skater on the 1992 Fall CCS catalog is Chris Pontius’ brother.

damn, that’s so cool about your handle. It’s amazing how much some of those tiny company’s designs stick out. I remember lusting after so many acme decks etc. Milk and those other brands would have tiny distribution back then. I almost died when I saw some zero two shoes and and chapter 7 wheels in Australia back in the day.
But yeah, always will be my fav era of skating despite the hate it cops…

Loved this era, but my mom will never let me live down my clothing of choice then. My was more conservative than my friends though never going to extremes in large pants size, or small wheel size. I maxed at size 36 pants, and 43mm wheels (powell jelly rolls.)

Nice to see that Matt Reason clip!

My mom was happy to buy us huge pants at outlet stores, that meant we never grew out of them, saving good money.
