Who else is down with the millennial king of blue grass? Dude is a phenomenal song writer and flat pick guitar ripper. I'm not the biggest fan of when he and the crew get spacey, but his traditional fast paced blue grass rips hit me where it hurts so good. For all my Michigan heads, he's playing K Zoo in November. Who's trying to link???

Billy is sick. Said you're not into the jam/spacey shit, but that run with Billy and the Kids playing Dead songs was some of the better Grateful Dead playing I've heard. Jerry Garcia started off as a bluegrass phenom. I'm dead to the core and there's no-one alive I'd rather hear singing/playing dead songs. Even the picking is on point with Garcia playing. so good.

Summertime with Marcus King is a hot take too

My brother... Although I feel my knowledge of music is vast, I'm just now giving The Dead their honest try. I will say, however, I lived in a foreign land for some time, and the one friend I made I made was someone walking through my neighborhood with a bears hoody on and I called him out on it. I will listen intently with the songs you've embedded.

This shit blew me away the first time I saw it. One of my best friends described him as bluegrass that metal heads will like and I can't say I disagree.

Billy is the shit! I’ve known him since he was 12, I’m from Ionia. The day I met him, he played a concert with his brother and a friend doing covers of Sabbath, Zeppelin, and Hendrix. He was playing a white Fender Strat, and I knew the second he started playing he was the best guitarist I would ever see. Little 12 year old kid playing behind his head, with his teeth, and just shedding like a champ at that age!

The metal band he was in a couple years later, my cousin was the vocalist. I would watch them play for an audience of maybe 5, but they kicked ass. He was a pretty talented skater, too.

I really dig all his music he’s put out, Away From the Mire is one of the best songs I’ve ever heard, but I am kinda biased I guess…
