I never knew other people appreciated Karate! What struck me most about them is that they were more akin to the bands out of Chicago vs. Boston. They had that feel of a Chicago area jazz influenced band, and the chops to back up the influence.
Severely underrated, and brings a smile to my face to see this thread. Working with my father I’ve often got that question “who is this?”, due strictly to the skill level of the musicians he was hearing.

Glad to have you in the thread, man! Yeah, they're one of those bands where the musicianship is undeniable.
I played Karate for my brother recently, and we have, not an EXTREMELY different taste in music, but his go to bands are not mine and vice versa. He's more into metal and progressive metal, but I played Some Boots for him in the car one day and after being somewhat silent for the first few tracks he goes, "I really like this."
That felt like such a huge win because the only other song he's said that about was Big Fat Fuck by Ween. Ha!
