Why X Games so cheap tho

Other contests build concrete parks into stadiums or donate them to municipalities, but the venerated X Games are held in some TF Park in an industrial hall with zero spectators. What is that?

No money anymore. XGAMES, sls, dew tour all had been getting smaller for years then covid really knocked them back even more. Look at new sls vs pre 2015 it's barely the same thing.

Street league is wood dude. I’m s been wood for a while unless they work out some partnership deal with a local municipality.

USA skateboarding held and an event at CATF and there was just a street league event at the primitive park.

xgames is made by espn to be broadcast on TV. Spectators aren’t as important. All that really matters is optimizing advertising revenue.

Prior to Covid they were trying to treat it as a festival, but they had to pivot.

Elliot got the bag though for letting them use his property. Im always for a skater getting a fat corporate check for minimal work.

Always seemed kind of wasteful to me to build a park in a stadium and then tear it down. Dyrdek had a great idea originally but it seems like that never took off

Yeah, doing contests at parks that already exist, or are permanently staying after the event seems much cooler to me.

On the topic of X-games, and from somebody who doesn't know shit about vert skating, serious question and zero hate:
Just watched the highlights of all street and vert stuff and wondering how was jimmy wilkins run better than the second or third? I get that doing no-grab spins is pretty cool, but most of his tricks were 180s. Is style much more important than tricks in vert contests?

I barely remember watching the highlights for vert, but the judges seem to score the runs based on how well they like the skater. You could argue that Guy Khury's run never changes between events or isn't creative, but he also threw down a clean 900 mid way through.

I don't think the judges are impartial or objective and aren't trying to hide it anymore.

Xgames was alway a venue to charge premium ad rates to Taco Bell, Doritos, etc

Xgames were sold a few years ago, and since the MO has been to cut expensives and maximize revenue.

That being said, I’m skipping any future contest held at catf

rawbertson.

I totally understand where you're coming from with your frustration about the X Games venue. It's definitely not the same as some of the more elaborate setups we see for other contests. But even though the venue may be lacking in some areas, the athleticism and talent of the competitors is still top-notch. Plus, it's always fun to see the unique and creative tricks that come out of more unconventional environments. In the meantime if you are looking for some fun and excitement, you should check out online casino Bambet Casino https://bambetcasino.com/ it's a great way to pass the time and enjoy some thrilling games. Have a great day!

The issue is leaving it up permanently requires so much more red tape that it's never worth it for the people who put these contests on... it's not to their benefit and costs them a lot more

I think those big events actually bill the cities ie…’if you want us to come, we need 100k’.

Couple years ago sls left a few parks open for the public. If you lived there you'd maybe wish they didn't.
