When i was about ten, i was watching television after school with a friend - must be around 1987/1988 – and Skateboard Madness came on. Couldn't keep my eyes from the screen. the scenes with the transparent bowl are burnt into my memory. Took me around a year to finally get a proper skateboard. but i was hooked from that moment on.

1988, I wad 9 years old, the best skaters in our town were these 3 dudes, wade, dave and stephan. they were 16 -17, but anytime they skated by or showed up at a spot we wld all just stop skating and watch like little kids. Anyway my friend built a launch ramp that we were doing early grabs off of. We had it on the street and out of nowhere all 3 of them skate up to it, wade does a 3 foot Ollie grab off the ramp. Stephan does a super high backside air, like 3 times as high as we were early grabbing, and dave does a huge Ollie off of the ramp and they all skated off to wherever they were going.We had never seen anybody go that high before and that is what we wanted to do after that. It's still one of my favorite memories ever
